Our year-long celebration of Taylor’s 50th anniversary continues with the introduction of a special family of instruments called the Legacy Collection. The new collection honors the early days of our history with designs inspired by some of Bob Taylor’s most memorable guitars. Bob personally oversaw the development of these guitars, curating the design elements and drawing from his own personal history with them. The result is a collection with the look, feel and sound of true “legacy” guitars, but subtly reimagined with aesthetic refinements and performance enhancements not found anywhere else in the Taylor line. #Leadership #Innovation #50thAnniversary #TaylorGuitars

In Hawai’i, Siglo Tonewoods, a joint venture between Taylor Guitars and Pacific Rim Tonewoods, has planted 8,000 koa trees together with 2,700 mixed native trees, primarily at Siglo Forest on The Big Island, an area that has been treeless for over a century. Several years ago, we bought this land with a plan to return it to forest and to eventually provide a sustainable supply of koa for the industry. Elsewhere, over the last five years, Siglo Tonewoods has planted 33,000 koa trees and 4,000 mixed native trees and shrubs on three project sites on Hawai’i Island. This equates to 145 acres of outright native forest planting.

Daniel Lewis, the Sr. Curator of the renowned Huntington Library, has a new book called Twelve Trees, which profiles a dozen tree species to illustrate the challenges we face maintaining healthy ecosystems. Chapter 7 is about West African ebony and we're honored to be mentioned. “…the California-based Taylor Guitars, purchased a dilapidated ebony mill in the city of Yaoundé in Cameroon, and soon became a leading driver of change in the guitar industry, leading a conservation charge to transform the growth, harvesting, and replanting of (ebony)” Our commitment to responsible sourcing remains steadfast as we continue our #sustainability journey.
