Celebrating Four Decades and Counting. Taylor is featuring 40 former projects in 40 weeks throughout our anniversary year, showcasing our growth and strengths from the past. As one of the nation’s leading pet supply sales and distribution companies, PetSmart needed to expand their facilities to keep pace with their growth. Taylor had only seven months to move 150,000 cubic yards of dirt and construct this unique 129,000 square foot combination distribution addition and outlet store. Working closely with the design team and seven different departments within the PetSmart organization, the skilled employees of Taylor and its subcontractors took literally hundreds of changes in stride as the design was in some cases just days ahead of the construction. #newyork #ROC #petsmart #taylorthebuilders #asmarterwaytobuild #preengineered #industrialconstruction

Gilbane Development Co., of Providence, Rhode Island, hired TAYLOR to construct “The Laurel”, a six-story, 193-unit, 480-bed student apartment building at 800-808 E. Fayette St. on Syracuse’s East Side, close to downtown and blocks from Syracuse University. The building contains 16 studio, 36 one-bedroom, 68 two-bedroom and 73 four-bedroom apartments. The fifth project in eight years for this customer. Taylor constructed this plant through the worst Michigan winter in 100 years. Due to the extreme existing site grades, Taylor had to move approximately 250,000 yards of soil before the building could be built. As a design build project, this one presented several challenges including tying into railroad tracks much lower than the building. Taylor’s constant and conscientious involvement in the design and construction of the facility made this the finest of the CeCorr plants. Final product included 8” thick reinforced concrete floors, 23 loading docks, rail siding and storage for 600 7,000 lb rolls of paper. #newyork #ROC #michigan #taylorthebuilders #asmarterwaytobuild #preengineered #industrialconstruction
