Veteran and Eagle Christian von Wupperfeld recently shared how his experience on our Grand Canyon Eagle Expedition helps him in his work at the Texas Juvenile Justice Department. “We all face adversity and that includes the kids in our care. “I think it was my second parachute jump and there were really high winds across the drop zone. I weigh like 225 pounds so; I feel like I fall a little faster than most and I hit the ground so hard on that jump that I was completely bruised across my entire ass all the way to my upper back. I tried to keep it quiet so I wouldn't get washed out for medical reasons. I ended up jumping again in high winds for the night jump that same day. And it hurt so bad… to the point where I couldn't even button up my pants. There's no disability claim for any of that noise. It got to the point where, during my chute shakedown that same night, I ended up passing out.” – Jeremy Mitchell, Director of Member Experience at Team RWB Join us in recognizing all fearless sky warriors this National Airborne Day!
