The Copper Classic, our cross-region golf outing, is an annual event that blends teambuilding with giving back. This year’s event was an amazing opportunity to strengthen bonds across teams while supporting the communities in which we work and serve. Each year, the Copper Classic winners receive $2,500 to donate to a local Be Constructive charity of their choice. As part of our Be Constructive initiative, we partner with the communities we serve to enhance the places where we all live and work. From hands-on volunteering to financial contributions, we’re committed to investing in our communities.

We received the "New Construction More Than $50 Million Award" as part of Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. Western Michigan Chapter’s Excellence in Construction Awards for our work on Concourse A expansion at Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR). Together with the airport’s visionary team, Mead & Hunt, HKS, Inc., and over 30 trade partners, the concourse was expanded to accommodate larger aircraft and growing passenger numbers. It features terrazzo flooring with designs from regional artists and a glass curtain wall etched with the state of Michigan.

A school building is far more than a building. It’s an environment where students, educators and communities can thrive. The facilities we build have a profound impact on students and communities by inspiring and empowering them to pursue their dreams. Our team of K-12 experts, including Robert Crowe, Kaleena Gonzalez, Brett Gillespie, Amy Scoby, Mel Trombley and Mary LeFevre, both shared and gained valuable insights at the recent MASA conference. By staying connected with the latest in education, we aim to continue providing the best possible construction solutions for schools. Together, we’re building spaces that empower learning and inspire the future! 🏫✨ #MASA2024 #K12Construction #EducationInnovation #BuildingBrighterFutures

Historic Preservation is a passion that flows through us here at Christman. It’s so much more than saving a building—it’s about preserving the stories, the energy, and the history that the building holds within its walls, while also making a positive environmental impact by reusing and revitalizing existing structures. Here’s our series, “Discovering My Passion for Preservation at Christman.” Today, hear from Chad Teeples, our Project Executive in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, and part of our Historic Preservation Group. 🔨 Why I Found My Way to Historic Preservation My journey into historic preservation started thanks to my mentor, Ron Staley, FAPT, APT RP. His passion for HP rubbed off on me early on, and once I participated in my first HP project, I gained a true appreciation for the craftsmanship that went into these historic buildings. It’s simply amazing to witness the skill and detail behind them. 💡 What Drives My Passion? For me, the passion for HP revolves around two things: The incredible craftsmanship and the skill required to build with limited tools. The stories these buildings hold. Standing in a room where history may have unfolded sparks curiosity in me, driving me to learn more. ✨ A Memorable Experience One memory that stays with me is from visiting a historic property with an interpretive architect from NPS. Walking into the main building, she became emotional, saying, “Look around, everything was left in place. Can you imagine the workers in here?” As I looked closer, I saw a small sink with soap, towels, a razor, bedding on a cot, and work clothes on a hook. That moment, over 20 years ago, shifted my perspective forever. Now, every time I step into a historic building, I allow my imagination to run wild, connecting deeply with the past. Historic preservation is more than just preserving structures—it’s about appreciating the craftsmanship, honoring the stories, and keeping the history alive. #HistoricPreservation #Craftsmanship #StoriesInStone
