QuieterRail project up and running Today we have launched the #QuieterRail Exploratory Project of Europe's Rail Joint Undertaking. The UNIFE coordinated project started with its kick off meeting in #Brussels - a great opportunity to discuss and align the objectives of the project. #QuieterRail will investigate the evolution of the prediction and mapping of railway noise and vibration, the acceptance testing of new rolling stock, and the promotion of cost-effective noise mitigation. 📌Disponible la nueva Agenda de Investigación e Innovación Ferroviaria (RRIA) de ERRAC. Ayer 24 de septiembre, en el marco de la feria ferroviaria InnoTrans 2024, y dentro del stand de Europe's Rail Joint Undertaking, la The European Rail Research Advisory Council (ERRAC) ha presentado la Agenda de Investigación e Innovación Ferroviaria (RRIA). Este plan estratégico se enfoca en la digitalización, la sostenibilidad y la resiliencia del sistema ferroviario, con el objetivo de convertir al ferrocarril en un pilar clave para una movilidad multimodal, inclusiva y neutra en carbono. Destacar entre los autores del documento a la Plataforma Tecnológica Ferroviaria Española #PTFE cuya secretaría técnica desempeña la Fundación Ferrocarriles Españoles y que aúna a más de 514 entidades del sector. In an industry that has been historically male-dominated, we are thrilled to witness the commitment to transformation bearing fruit! Female representation in the rail sector has climbed to an impressive 24% in 2023, a significant leap from just 16% a decade ago, according to recent statistics from the Office of Rail and Road (ORR). This progress is a testament to the hard work and dedication of countless individuals and organisations striving to create a more inclusive and diverse environment. It’s inspiring to see how far we’ve come, but our journey doesn’t stop here. Let’s continue to push for even greater diversity and inclusion in the rail industry!
