We’re excited to share the remarkable success of EKSTRAMETAL, a Turkish foundry that has expertly leveraged the power of ExOne’s Binder Jetting technology to revolutionize its operations 🌟 Ekstrametal has executed countless projects with impressive efficiency and precision, including the optimization of producing machining fixtures. By utilizing binder jetting on the S-Max printer, the iron foundry consolidated the fixture into three cast parts, compared to the conventional method requiring 15 sheet metal pieces assembled into three subassemblies. This process, which traditionally took approximately 65 hours of labor, was optimized by 35%. Curious about the details? Dive into our in-depth case study: “Efficiency and Precision Through Sand 3D Printing in Iron Casting” to explore how Ekstrametal achieved these outstanding results! https://hubs.li/Q02Nc1DW0 As Ankiros 2024 is coming closer, we’re proud to showcase Ekstrametal’s success story and many other applications from September 19-21 at Hall 6, Booth C127. Join us in Istanbul to see these applications firsthand. We look forward to welcoming you!

Did you know that approximately 5,184 fist-sized cores can fit into a single ExOne 3D printer build box? This makes 3D sand printing perfect for small cores. No matter the complexity, if your cores are about the size of a clenched fist (or smaller), 3D printing is likely more cost-efficient than conventional manufacturing. This cost-saving advantage comes from a reduced scrap rate often associated with small, intricate cores and the ability to produce high volumes effectively.

An inside look at our ExOne S-Max Pro 3D sand printer in action, this is how we produce our casting molds. The long print head puts down a .28mm layer of sand, then the small print head follows behind putting binder to the designated areas of the mold design. We can print a max mold size of 70"x 39"x 27" (1800mm x 1000mm x 700mm)
