The LIA Small and Mid-Sized Business Committee recently hosted the The New York Racing Association for an update on the $455 million transformation of Belmont Park. NYRA CEO David O’Rourke and AECOM Tishman shared insights on this historic project, the largest of its kind in horse racing, which promises to create 3,700 construction jobs and generate a staggering $1 billion in economic impact. The new Belmont Park will feature a modern grandstand, increased green space, and a state-of-the-art all-weather track, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Matt Cohen, President & CEO of the Long Island Association, said, “Belmont Park is an economic engine for Long Island and this significant transformation of the venue will result in new jobs, revenues, and economic activity. The LIA applauds NYRA for their engagement of regional small businesses to ensure they are aware of the procurement timeline, as well as opportunities once the project is complete.” Thank you to the Committee Chairs: Ernie Canadeo, CEO, The EGC Group and Katherine Heaviside, President, Epoch 5 Public Relations and the Committe Vice Chairs: Luis Vazquez, President, Long Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Inc. and Crisler Quick, President, The Finance Department. https://buff.ly/3YgOIvR https://buff.ly/3YgOIvR #BelmontPark #NYRA #LongIsland #EconomicGrowth #SmallBusiness
