TNPA was proud to be a partner at a Congressional lunch briefing during the 22nd annual Foundations on the Hill (FOTH) on February 25th. Held at the U.S. Capitol, the event gathered 140 leaders from foundations, nonprofits, and philanthropy organizations to discuss how Congress can incentivize charitable giving through the bipartisan Charitable Act (S. 317/H.R. 801). Our House Republican lead, Rep. Blake Moore, hosted, while Democratic co-lead Rep. Danny Davis shared why he supports the bill. TNPA’s Shannon McCracken, CAE highlighted recent polling showing strong bipartisan support for nonprofits: ✅ 83% of Republicans & 88% of Democrats agree nonprofits are vital to the nation’s well-being. ✅ 58% of Americans believe the federal government should fund nonprofits’ core operations. Shannon also joined her CEO colleagues Deborah Aubert Thomas, United Philanthropy Forum, and Dr. Akilah Watkins, Independent Sector to meet with key Congressional offices including Senator Lankford and senior Senate Finance Committee staff.
