Gardening is a process that inevitably involves both triumphs and setbacks each year. This year, we're proud to report an exceptional garlic harvest, arguably the best we've ever had. Additionally, the cabbage yield was flawless. 🧄🥬 Our Upstate Farm Manager, Julie Cerny, has been hard at work tending to 150+ varieties of flavorful produce and flowers at our Learning Garden at Katchkie Farm. 🌟 #Détermination #Résilience #Entrepreneuriat #Inspiration #Mindset #DéveloppementPersonnel #Persévérance #LeadershipFéminin --- 🇺🇸Today, I’m sharing a part of my story. Coming from an underprivileged background, I know what it means to start from zero, with no safety net. But far from being a weakness, it’s an incredible strength 💪🏾. It taught me to work harder, to persevere, and to seek opportunities where they are not obvious. For us, there are no shortcuts, no handouts 🎁. It’s this determination that has allowed me to build what I have today. 🚀 My journey is proof that our origins don’t define us; it’s our determination and resilience that make the difference. 🌟 #Determination #Resilience #Entrepreneurship #Inspiration #Mindset #PersonalDevelopment #Perseverance #WomenInLeadership

It was a pleasure having Youth Market and GrowNYC interns join us at Katchkie Farm. Interns receive nutrition education, run farm stands, participate in cooking workshops, and support food distributions across the city during their internship. They also get to learn firsthand where and how food grows during their visit to our Learning Garden. We enjoyed making pasta salad with them with our farm produce. Looking forward to their visit next year! #foodeducation #farmtotable #summerinterns

Our apprentices from Claremont International High School successfully completed the Teen Culinary Apprenticeship (TCA) with SYEP NYC Department of Youth & Community Development. They toured the kitchens of Great Performances and savored vegan treats at Mae Mae Cafe + Plant Store. We thank the Great Performances chefs and packing team for giving our students an inside look. Can’t wait for the TCA Graduation to celebrate their achievements this week!🥳 #foodeducation #SYEP #summerinternship

Last season, the Teen Culinary Apprenticeship (TCA) program highlighted the creation of culturally relevant recipes. Spearheaded by Benia, the Teen Programs Manager at TSC, and Chef Educators Cara and Emma, they focused on participant input. The aim was to stir enthusiasm by preparing dishes that reflect the students' home and cultural environments. Students experimented with these new recipes that included plant-based versions of pupusas, mofongo, mafe, jollof rice, biryani, Thai green curry, crepes and more! ✨ Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/eQxg9vbd
