  • Our restoration process always starts with a deep dive into each building’s historical significance, architectural features and current condition. From there, we collaborate closely with our clients to align their visions and objectives with the best approach for repairs and restoration. Our findings are then compiled into detailed reports, complete with treatment recommendations and cost estimates, providing everything they need to make the best decision possible. Whether it’s minor fixes or a full restoration, we’re dedicated to bringing each structure back to life with the care and respect it deserves. • On #NationalFarmersDay, we take a look at historic Oxon Hill Farm, which dates back to the 1600s. The Tradesman Group was selected by National Park Service to stabilize and repair the farm's historic terra cotta block silo, which included installation of a new concrete floor and internal steel frame to give the silo masonry long-term support and stability. Deficient blocks were replaced one by one to match existing blocks for size, shape, color and texture. TTG also replaced the wooden roof frame and installed a new copper roof. From the 1890s until the 1960s, St. Elizabeth’s Hospital operated a therapeutic farm here for people with mental illness. The Oxen Hill Farm Silo, built in 1940, stored food over the winter for livestock. It is one of many pieces of farm equipment that remain on display as part of the ongoing hands-on agricultural programs. Learn more about this project and others on our newly designed project pages!

  • October is National #WorkAndFamilyMonth, which encourages employers to foster and showcase healthy and balanced work cultures. With more than 25 family connections within the company, we will proudly share several stories throughout the month that showcase how TTG has become a place where family can work and prosper together. Today's feature is on Kimberly McNeal, her son Keenan McNeal and sister Laura McCoy. Kimberly came to TTG in 2017 and is currently serving as Project Manager over several projects. “I love the people I work with and love coming to work every day … and I know that’s not the norm for most people so I feel incredibly lucky! What we do here at TTG is so special and has incredible significance. And now that we’re 100% employee-owned, I think EVERYONE should get to work at such an awesome company, and I’ll tell anyone who will listen!” Her son Keenan was listening, and when a knee injury found him looking for a new line of work earlier this year, he jumped at the chance to come work at the TTG shop in Ohio and learn from the best in the business. Then, when an HR position came open, Kimberly knew just the person for the important role … her sister Laura. However, rather than being recommended directly to management by her sister, Laura wanted to earn the opportunity to join the T-Team, so she applied online just like everyone else. The rest, as they say, is history. #WorkWithPurpose

  • The notion of a workplace being “family” is often overstated, but there’s merit to the references at TTG. In fact, there are around 25 family connections within the company! This happens because team members have valued their experience to the point they’ve given the ultimate endorsement – referring spouses, family and close friends to #WorkWithPurpose alongside them. (They receive a bonus for those referrals as well! 💵) Here are just a few of those family connections we’re celebrating for #NationalFamilyDay. We’ll share many of their stories in October for #WorkAndFamilyMonth.

  • #LaborDay on Sept. 2, 2024 marks TTG's second year as a 100% Employee-Owned company. On this day, celebrated by all of America, we at TTG are proud to pay tribute to all of America's workers who make our great country function and prosper. In particular, we want to express a special thank you to TTG's incredible employee-owners who work hard and make sacrifices every day in the amazing work they do for our company and our country. It is truly #WorkWithPurpose and the reason we are so proud to be 100% employee-owned.

  • Working at TTG can lead you to some fascinating and beautiful places. Almost 70 miles west of Key West lies the remote Dry Tortugas National Park. This 100-square mile park is mostly open water with seven small islands, accessible only by boat or seaplane. The area is known for its famous bird and marine life, legends of pirates and sunken gold, and military past as the home of magnificent Fort Jefferson. TTG will be entrusted with repairs on the fort's historic Engineering Officer’s Quarters that will involve fabrication and installation of 34 new wood shutters, slate and copper roofing repairs, carpentry, brick and painting repairs all on the exterior of the structure. We're honored to be selected by National Park Service for the project. #WorkWithPurpose 📷: NPS

  • Did you know TTG has specialized equipment, skills and training to remove graffiti? If this unfortunate need arises for your structure, it is important to consult with top conservators on the best removal methods. Many clients attempt removal on their own through chemical treatment or power washing, which often further damages the historic surface. For this project shown at the Historic Metro Nashville/Davidson County Courthouse, TTG used laser cleaning in combination with other techniques to effectively and safely remove damage from historic limestone, granite and bronze surfaces. #WorkWithPurpose
