The Attention Council reposted this
A big day for CIMM and for the attention space! Today, we announced that the Coalition for Innovative Media Measurement (CIMM) is acquiring The Attention Council (TAC), to explore the use of attention, quality and related metrics across the media and advertising ecosystem. In 2022, CIMM adopted a new mission: To cultivate and support improvements, best practices and innovations in measurement and currency development, data collaboration, and the use of new metrics and approaches to understanding the value of media and effectiveness of advertising. So, attention has long been an area of interest - and now, with TAC, we're delighted to have the opportunity to work with our members and the wider industry to support rigorous exploration and investigation of attention metrics. We'll be launching a new working group in October, and are delighted to welcome Andy Brown as Industry Chair, to help us develop the new program. We'd like to thank the founders and pioneers who started TAC in 2019 - Adelaide, Amplified Intelligence, Avocet Communications, Lumen Research, and TVision - and would like to thank Marc Guldimann and Yan Liu for helping everything fall into place, and Scott McDonald for his sage advice. We'd also like to thank Paul Donato, Mike Follett, Karen Nelson-Field PhD, Chrissie H., Angelina Eng and Mike Bregman for their work on attention and for hugely valuable conversations along the way.
