Thrilled to share the exciting news that SCAN today placed #7 on the Fast Company list of the 15 most innovative companies in healthcare. From our citation: “California based SCAN Health Plan is a Medicare plan founded in 1977 by a group of 12 senior citizens who wanted better healthcare. SCAN stands for Senior Care Action Network. The company is focused on coordinating social services and medical care within the community to meet each patient’s needs. SCAN is expanding on its mission of providing better healthcare for seniors by focusing on the needs of specific groups. In 2023, SCAN started Affirm (partnered with Included Health) the first Medicare Advantage plan for LGBTQ+ seniors, which offers lower copays on HIV treatments, gender-affirming hormone treatments, and access to culturally competent care. In 2024, it launched the Inspired program which is specifically for women 65+. Inspired gives members access to a health advocate who ensures they get personalized care. It also offers access to free estrogen therapy, access to women specific fitness clubs, and the ability to visit a Women’s Center within the SCAN network which offer breast and pelvic care. SCAN also partnered with care management company Astrana Health to create SCAN Allied, a plan for Asian-American seniors. SCAN Allied includes unlimited acupuncture, grocery and fitness allowances, and access to culturally aligned providers. SCAN currently brings in $5 billion in revenue and covers nearly 300,000 members across California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and Texas.” Huge congratulations to #1 on the list, Abridge. SCAN is a proud investor in the company. https://lnkd.in/g3myjqTw

"Expanding the PACE model in Nevada will empower seniors with choice, dignity, and the ability to remain in their communities while receiving the full spectrum of medical and social services.” SCAN's Director of State Government Affairs, Kelsey Avery recently testified before the Nevada Senate Committee on Health and Human Services in strong support of Senate Bill 207—which proposes creating a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) in Nevada. PACE providers, like SCAN's myPlace Health, allow medically frail, low-income seniors to age and thrive at home rather than in institutional settings. Read more about Avery's testimony, the bill's potential impact, and PACE here: https://ow.ly/UTOf50Vk1VC Special thanks to Senator Taylor for her leadership in championing Senate Bill 207!
