Congratulations to LTC David Leverett, a native of Carrollton, Georgia and former collegiate baseball player, for being selected as this year's TWA recipient of the Atlanta Braves Fantasy Camp! LTC Leverett was awarded a Bronze Star and served in Iraq and Afghanistan as a Field Artillery Officer. He is currently the G1 for the 13th Armored Corps Sustainment Command at Fort Cavazos, Texas and will be retiring from the U.S. Army in August 2025. LTC Leverett, his wife LTC Kristin Leverett and son Jackson will be heading to North Port, FL in January to live out his major league baseball dreams! It was an amazing week and honor to serve the local Atlanta veteran community at the 2024 Military Influencer Conference. Thanks to an alert attorney and TWA's navigation team, a veteran is now on a new road toward achieving the life she had imagined after military service. Perspective: amongst the thousands of attendees and incredible speakers, a veteran and her 10-year old son came to TWA's Veteran Legal Services Clinic to discuss a legal matter. They had been living in their car for almost all of 2024, and while mom was receiving professional consultation, her son was drawing cartoons in The Home Depot Backyard. 5 hours later, mom and son were sitting in a hotel room and will soon be heading to a service provider facility to receive a multitude of wrap around services needed to restart their lives. She may not be aware, but we adopted them into the TWA family, so going back is not an option. Thank you to all the volunteer attorneys and veteran service organizations who pay it forward for veterans in the state of Georgia.
