We are thrilled to announce that Austin College has joined Tradewater and Second Nature in our campaign to eliminate 1 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent (CO2e) emissions by 2030 through the collection, control, and destruction of non-CO2 gases. Austin College has already reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by almost 60% since 2008. While the college continues to make further on-campus sustainability improvements, it has also begun to make incrementally increasing purchases of high-quality carbon credits to address emissions that cannot be abated. For more information, check out Austin College's press release: https://lnkd.in/ezAgM2hg Austin College joins 1 Million Tonnes Campaign members Loyola University Chicago, Pomona College, and other institutions working with Tradewater through carbon offsets and management of ozone-depleting substances on-campus. Thank you, Austin College, for your leadership on climate action!

📆 Free webinar - 27 March, 3pm (UK/GMT) - Carbon Market Outlook: trends and forecasts that every carbon buyer needs to know 📆 Register here: https://lnkd.in/eaNhHmyN The voluntary carbon market is opaque and complex. Understanding the options when it comes to the varying methodology and project types, and the dynamics of impact and price, is difficult. We’ve analysed how the voluntary carbon market fared in 2024 and trends for the future. Join us as we set out how the market works, share key pricing information and price and supply/scarcity projections for the next few years. With unique detail on the four key sub-markets we have identified: - First-generation avoidance - Second generation avoidance - Nature based Solutions - Novel/durable carbon removal You will leave with an in depth understanding of how the voluntary carbon market works, how to have the most impact with your carbon purchases, and how utilising the voluntary carbon market can provide a central element of a leading beyond value chain mitigation strategy. Not only that, but we'll be joined by Carl Thorne-Thomsen from high impact greenhouse gas (CFCs and HFCs) destruction and methane well capping project, Tradewater, and will also share insight on which projects funders are buying more broadly, in climate outside of carbon credits and where they are funding biodiversity protection and restoration.

It was a privilege to host more than 200 energy and climate professionals at the Payne Institute for Public Policy's Accelerated Methane Reduction Symposium last week. The theme of the event: Harnessing Natural Gas to Achieve Energy Security & Climate Goals. This was our third natural gas-themed symposium at the Colorado School of Mines in the lead up to CERAWeek. Each year, we bring together stakeholders from across the energy and environmental spectrum to share lessons learned, find areas of agreement, and forge new partnerships for constructive action. One high-level observation from our two-day event: #Methane and natural #gas are one and the same. Therefore, when you reduce fugitive methane emissions, you are practicing energy addition. With demand for natural gas on the rise domestically and internationally, energy addition through methane capture is something that almost all stakeholders can agree on. Because giving away billions of dollars of product to the atmosphere – for free – defies common sense and works against a host of other priorities, from curbing inflation, to addressing global energy poverty, to ensuring geopolitical stability, to slowing the pace of climate change, to improving the efficiency and reliability of oilfield operations. Likewise, thank you to the sponsors of this year's symposium: BHP, bp, Chevron, Tradewater, TallmanPacific and EcoVapor Recovery Systems - A DNOW Company.
