This past July and August, TMF Veteran Mentors delivered more than just backpacks – they shared our 'If Not Me, Then Who...' mantra with thousands of students nationwide through Back to School Character Days. Youth across the country are heading into the school year with the tools they need and a strong foundation of character. Thank you to our community partners, CSX Transportation, Emergent, and the TowerCares Foundation, for supporting our mission and ensuring our youth are set up for success! 💪🇺🇸

About us
Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) empowers veterans and families of fallen heroes to develop character in future generations. In 2007, 1st Lt Travis Manion (USMC) was killed in Iraq while saving his wounded teammates. Today, Travis' legacy lives on in the words he spoke before leaving for his final deployment, "If Not Me, Then Who..." Guided by this mantra, veterans and survivors continue their service, develop strong relationships with their communities, and thrive in their post-military lives. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation's heroes live on in the next generation.

15 years ago, SFC Bradley S. Bohle, Army, made the ultimate sacrifice. Known for his unwavering commitment to his team and his ability to make everyone feel valued, Bradley was not only a devoted father but also a proud soldier who found immense joy in serving his country. Before his deployment, Bradley’s leadership was defined by his commitment to building strong relationships and making each person feel like the center of the universe. Today, his surviving spouse, Liz White, carries on his legacy as a Character Does Matter (CDM) Mentor with TMF. Through TMF's Alaska and Texas Expeditions, Liz has embraced opportunities for personal growth, leadership development, and service, working alongside other families of the fallen to honor their loved ones. Now part of the Spartan Leadership Program (SLP) Cohort 6, Liz continues to grow as a leader, inspiring others to serve and make an impact, just as Bradley did.

Just four days after last year’s Madisonville, KY 9/11 Heroes Run, Bob Pescitani faced heart failure. Fast forward to March 2024—after receiving a pacemaker, he’s been determined to push his limits and take part in our 9/11 Heroes Run 5ks again. When Chicago and Madisonville fell on the same day this year, Bob didn’t hesitate. He kicked off with a morning run at the lakefront in Chicago and flew to finish under the stars in Madisonville, KY. 🇺🇸 A true testament to honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Challenge accepted, mission accomplished! #IfNotMeThenWho #HonorAndRemember

Grateful for Starbucks and their incredible partners across the country who are stepping up to support TMF’s #911HeroesRun in more ways than one! Thank you for running and volunteering, to honor our nation's heroes. Rachel Howard, a Starbucks partner and TMF Spartan, says, "I understand how important even a single cup of coffee is to a group that has given and sacrificed so much for all of us." #Community #NeverForget #IfNotMeThenWho
