An afternoon spent at the State Capitol with Governor Ned Lamont to discuss one essential question: How to grow U.S. manufacturing? The answer: innovation, workforce development, and localized production.  ✅ Smart Factory Progress: Tube machine production has begun, and Bending machines are coming in 2026— now with support from Connecticut’s new Strategic Supply Chain program. ✅ Next-Level Training: Investing in a new training center will support ~4,000 trainees a year with the latest in automation and advanced manufacturing. ✅ Innovation & Energy: Investments in Smart Factories, AI, Robotics, and Quantum Computing need reliable, cost-effective power. We appreciate Connecticut’s support in driving manufacturing excellence and look forward to continued collaboration.

  • Laser ablation: Why the removing of different coatings is essential in battery production – and how the TruMicro 7000 makes it easy 🔧 De-coating with a pulsed (nanosecond) laser is an ablative process where coatings are heated by absorbed laser energy, causing evaporation or sublimation. In battery production, CDP (Cathodic Dip Coating) on battery covers or dielectric UV coatings on battery cells can be removed completely or selectively with lasers to enable further processing. Why remove coatings? 🔹 Joining processes: De-coating as a pretreatment for processes like bonding, contacting / screwing, welding, and soldering 🔹 Recoating / Repair: Saves time and costs, and minimizes reject rates Watch this video demonstrating the removal of a coating from a prismatic battery cell using the TruMicro 7000 laser. 🔽
