  • Each year, the Secretary’s Awards honor the work, sacrifice, and professional excellence of employees from components all across the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. We want to congratulate Alen Wong, this year's recipient of the Valor Award, the highest recognition for extraordinary acts of valor occurring either on or off duty. Wong, a Supervisory Transportation Security Officer at A.B. Won Pat International Airport in Guam, was recognized for contributions made to emergency response efforts before, during, and after Super Typhoon Mawar in June 2023. "I am truly humbled and grateful to be recognized for this award along with the TSA Guam team. Being born and raised on island, I have become accustomed to these types of adverse weather events, and I feel that answering the call is an expectation that comes with the job," Wong said. Please join us in congratulating Alen Wong! #TeamTSA

  • Earlier today, TSA Deputy Administrator Holly Canevari and TSA leaders joined the #IdentityWeekAmerica 2024 conference on national security, digital transformation in travel, and emerging threats and challenges. “The traveling public is moving at a pace never before seen in our nearly 23-year history, and identity management remains a lynchpin in transportation security,” said DADM Canevari. Thank you to our partners at today’s event. It’s through our collaborative partnerships across the transportation and security sectors that we thrive.

  • We believe that staying ahead of emerging threats & continually improving our processes are key to providing top-notch security for all travelers. We’re always working hard to enhance the customer experience. How are we doing that? By empowering our workforce. 💡   We’ve created “Lift Cells” – tapping into the ideas and solutions of our front-line workforce. Lift Cells serve as innovation hubs at airports across the country, connecting TSA employees with partners in industry, academia, and government to test and implement solutions large and small.  Here's a selfie that Administrator Pekoske took at our first Lift Cells Summit, where we brought together our teams from across the country to meet in-person and share ideas and successes. ✨   Want to get involved or learn more?
