🚀 Cyber AND: Bridging Disciplines for Cybersecurity Innovation – UC2’s First Webinar Was a Success! On February 4th, UC2 hosted its inaugural webinar, bringing together researchers and cybersecurity professionals to explore the power of interdisciplinary collaboration. Timothy Clancy, Ph.D. (University of Maryland START) and Dr. Patrick Warren (Clemson University) showcased how integrating insights from political science, behavioral analysis, and computational modeling is a highly effective approach to tackling complex cybersecurity challenges. Beyond the science, they also highlighted the importance of structured collaboration, sharing practical strategies for fostering interdisciplinary research—both in their own work and through initiatives like the cross-disciplinary Media Forensics Hub at Clemson University. Participants described the discussion as "informative," "interesting," and "engaging," with many highlighting the positive rapport between the speakers. Thank you to our speakers and everyone who joined the conversation! Stay tuned for more UC2 events and opportunities to advance cybersecurity research. #UC2 #CIC #NDU #Cybersecurity #Collaboration

In anticipation of the Department of Defense (DoD) Cyber Workforce Summit (CWS) that will take place on Thursday, 20 March to Friday, 21 March 2025, the DoD CIO would like to highlight one of our confirmed guest keynote speakers Gen. (USAF) Timothy D. Haugh, Commander, U.S. Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM) and Director, National Security Agency and Chief, Central Security Service. As Commander for USCYBERCOM, Gen. Haugh leads his Command in defending the Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN), providing support to combatant commanders for execution of their missions around the world, and strengthening our nation's ability to withstand and respond to any potential cyber-attacks. During the Summit, Gen. Haugh will provide audiences with an overview of the USCYBERCOM landscape and highlight the increasing complexity and sophistication of cyber threats. To that end, Gen. Haugh will confront the reality that to win in this battlespace, the U.S. must emphasize developing a highly skilled and adaptable cyber workforce capable of countering these threats. The DoD CIO is excited to welcome Gen. Haugh to our panel of subject matter experts and keynote speakers and is excited to see what his participation during the Summit’s agenda brings to the table!
