TIME has recognized our clients Tefi Pessoa, George Lopez, Tanya Saracho, and María Zardoya on its 2024 “Latino Leaders” list, tied to Hispanic Heritage Month. Here’s a glimpse of how each client are trailblazing their respective fields: • Creator Tefi Pessoa interweaves her Colombian and Brazilian heritage in her pop culture reporting and storytelling across social platforms. • George Lopez continues to be a dominant figure in Hollywood with his NBC sitcom, “Lopez vs Lopez,” and advocates for end-to-end Latino involvement in the creation of entertainment. • Tanya Saracho, a screenwriter and the founder of the production company Ojalá, is committed to ensuring Latinx voices have a seat at the writer’s table. She co-founded the Untitled Latinx Project to increase Latinx representation in entertainment. • María Zardoya, the lead singer of The Marías, fuses Latin and indie influences into her music and has won mainstream attention through the group’s collaborations with other Latino artists like Tainy and fellow UTA client Bad Bunny. According to PQ Media, spending on product placement is expected to reach around $41.5 billion by 2026. Today's complex entertainment ecosystem, however, can make it difficult for brands to understand the impact of these deals, with viewership being just one of many factors to take into account. Learn how the team of product placement and data experts within UTA Entertainment Marketing — who work on integrations spanning film ("Barbie"), television ("The Bear"), and music videos — partner with marketers to evaluate the true value of a #productplacement deal, leveraging their own framework of rigorous measures. As UTA's Victoria Anorve shares, “What makes our approach innovative is how we interpret the data. We give clients the ability to evaluate an integration holistically and, as their partner, help quantify the overall value."

Join us in congratulating our UTA Music colleagues recognized on this year’s Billboard Latin Power Players list, which celebrates agents and executives who are driving Latin music's success. Jbeau Lewis (Partner & Agent), Nigel Meiojas (Partner & Agent), Toni Wallace (Partner & Head, Music Brand Strategy & Partnerships), and Carlos Abreu (Agent) were highlighted for advancing “exponential growth in media value” for clients including Karol G, Bad Bunny, Ángela Aguilar, Young Miko, Rauw Alejandro, Anitta, and Rosalía. and for their focus on helping clients land exceptional partnerships. Latin music continues to be one of the fastest growing genres in the world, with Latin artists continually making history on various Billboard charts. As “one of the most emotive and dynamic music genres, [Latin music] is breaking down global barriers… in a way that has never been done before,” Wallace says. “Language doesn’t matter — the music is something that you feel, and that feeling connects with fans in a way that transcends borders and boundaries.” See the list at link below.

The documentary short “The Turnaround,” co-directed by our two-time Oscar winning client Ben Proudfoot, is coming to Netflix, just in time for the MLB postseason. Proudfoot’s latest — which follows his Oscar-winning “The Last Repair Shop” — tells the story of Philadelphia Phillies’ superfan Jon McCann, who inspired an unlikely 2023 standing ovation for shortstop Trea Turner. That show of support helped turn the team around amid a troubling season. Netflix’s acquisition demonstrates streamers' growing investment in short films, especially ahead of awards season. The documentary was produced by Proudfoot’s Breakwater Studios and directed by Kyle Thrash. Executive producers include Barack and Michelle Obama through Higher Ground, DICK’s Sporting Goods’ Cookie Jar & A Dream Studios, and MLB Studios. Read more below.

“As someone who barely got bar mitzvahed and retained nothing from it, I did feel a responsibility. The representation feels heavier on me,” Adam Brody tells The New York Times about his latest role as an unconventional rabbi in the new Netflix comedy series “Nobody Wants This.” The show follows Brody’s character, Noah, as he forms an unlikely relationship with an irreverent, outspoken, agnostic woman played by Kristen Bell. TV audiences might clock similarities between Noah and Brody’s fame-making role: Jewish heartthrob Seth Cohen from “The O.C.” Indeed, when casting “Nobody Wants This,” creator Erin Foster, says, “it felt really exciting to show him as this ‘adult version of Cohen.’” However, Brody himself has similarities with this new character, too — specifically his insecurities. Delivering a sermon doesn’t feel that different from acting. “Publicly performing as a job, putting yourself out there like that, it still makes me insecure,” he said.   Read the full New York Times feature below. https://lnkd.in/gvNA8kTV
