⚾ ❤️ In 2024, United Way teamed up with the Cincinnati Reds Country Cares program to recognize impactful local organizations. We awarded $1,000 grants to 20 nonprofits working on important causes like mental health, disability awareness and recovery awareness. This partnership brought more than financial support — it provided awareness and a spotlight at Great American Ball Park, plus year-round volunteer support. 🛜 City of Cincinnati Council Member Anna Albi recently presented United Way of Greater Cincinnati with a resolution recognizing the organization as a 2024 Digital Inclusion Month Honoree!   As a proud leader of the Southwest Ohio Regional Digital Inclusion Alliance (RDIA), we learned firsthand how deeply the digital divide impacts our community members. Extensive research went into creating the Connecting Southwest Ohio Digital Opportunity Plan. United Way of Greater Cincinnati has appointed Tricia Sunders, a seasoned nonprofit executive with deep local roots, as its chief development officer to lead development and philanthropic efforts.

💡 Wednesday night’s Tocqueville Leaders Exchange was a powerful gathering!    Leigh Fox, President and CEO of altafiber, joined Moira Weir, President and CEO of United Way of Greater Cincinnati, for a dynamic conversation that covered community impact, digital equity and the future of philanthropy in our region. Leigh shared his insights on the significance of digital access for all — an altafiber priority — and the role corporate leaders play in advancing social good through partnership and investment in digital equity.     His reflections on volunteerism, leadership and community involvement were especially impactful, drawing from his experience on several nonprofit boards, including United Way. Leigh emphasized how sustained engagement and collaboration are key to driving change in Greater Cincinnati, noting that a healthy community and healthy business go together. Additionally, our Tocqueville attendees learned about the inspiration behind the name “altafiber” from Leigh himself!
