Exciting news from UPchieve! Their new "UPchieve for Teachers" feature is a game-changer for Title 1 educators, allowing them to connect students to 1:1 tutoring, create classes, and track progress—all free for students. By involving teachers directly, UPchieve is breaking down even more barriers to support student success. It's amazing to see UPchieve’s continued growth and the increasing impact they’re having on students nationwide! #EdTech #EducationEquity

It was such a pleasure to learn from Debshila Basu Mallick (OpenStax, Rice University), Jennifer de Forest (YouthTruth), and Chris Shaw (UPchieve) about how they're prioritizing equity as they pursue new applications for AI in their organizations. Among the interesting findings that we spotlight in our new post on the Digital Promise blog: 💡 Bias in AI models is often more subtle and complicated than we often assume, with particular implications for educational products and initiatives. 💡 AI holds great potential for highly-structured tasks where datasets are large. In many cases it's possible to use AI to conduct analyses that spotlight demographic groups and correlations that were previously overlooked. 💡 Human review and coordination is an important cornerstone of using AI in education and it is important that users have a voice in when and how to deploy AI.
