🌟🗞️ Our latest report, Cool Switch, examines a hidden opportunity for electrification that could cut on-site emissions from the residential sector by up to 30 percent. 2.4 million single-family homes in New York State have central air conditioners (ACs), and over 120,000 new units are sold statewide every year. When those ACs age or fail, cold-climate heat pumps could go in their place to both cool and heat a home. With generous incentives in New York, replacing central ACs with heat pumps that heat and cool year-round is often more affordable than replacing a furnace and central AC separately. Our report explores potential retrofits, costs and policy steps needed to advance this transition—a win for homeowners and the climate alike! ➤ Read the full report here: https://ow.ly/X0xF50TWAQa
