🌟 We’re proud to highlight the incredible work of our RAPP (Relationship Abuse Prevention Program) Summer Leadership Program, where students are being empowered to lead and advocate for healthy relationships. Recently, 18 of our Peer Leaders collaborated with URI’s Abusive Partner Intervention Program (APIP) on a unique visual project. Drawing inspiration from APIP’s "therapeutic journey" themes, these students created artwork that now greets everyone who enters the APIP office, symbolizing safety and inclusion. A special thank you to our dedicated coordinators—Jahan, Erica, Kenyan, and Sherry—who made this project possible. This collaboration is a testament to the power of youth leadership and creativity in fostering positive change. 💜 Discover more about our impactful work and join us in building a safer future. urinyc.org #TeenDatingViolence #RelationshipAbuse #DomesticViolence #IPV #HealthyRelationships

This week, students in our Relationship Abuse Prevention Program (RAPP) Summer Leadership Program participated in the Teen Voices Festival, hosted in collaboration with the The New York Public Library. Peer Leaders engaged in writing and art workshops, signed up for library cards, and explored a Virtual Reality experience. They also received coaching on college, careers, and advocacy, and were inspired by a keynote speech from Marley Dias, founder of #1000BlackGirlBooks. RAPP Coordinators and Peer Leaders also connected with organizations such as the Museum of the Moving Image, 92nd Street Y, Girls Write Now, The Door - A Center of Alternatives, ArtsConnection, and the actress and teaching artist Kerry W. It was a day filled with learning, networking, and building lasting relationships that will shape the upcoming school year.
