Meet Connor Calhoun, a Staff Pro at the #USTANationalCampus! Before joining the coaching staff, Connor started teaching in 2019 as a Teaching Pro in his hometown of Springville, Alabama, where he shared his passion for tennis with both new and experienced players. He even helped coach his alma mater's high school tennis team. A graduate of Bevill State Community College, he was not only a dedicated athlete but also actively engaged in various leadership programs while on his college tennis team. Connor is also certified by USPTA/PTR. Now, at the USTA National Campus, Connor is responsible for multiple spaces, focusing on junior development and various adult programs.

Earlier this month, the 2024 Adaptive Tennis National Championships took over our courts with a total of 25 unified doubles teams—composed of adaptive athletes and their non-disabled partners— from across 12 USTA sections for a weekend of competition and camaraderie. These incredible teams showcased their game, determination, and teamwork, reiterating that this sport is for everyone. Guests and staff also had the opportunity to participate in red ball drills, further highlighting the inclusive spirit of tennis! #USTANationalCampus

Only two days remaining until the 2024 Celebrating Women in Sports Luncheon presented by Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute! The recipient of our Rising Star Award this year, Grace Burr currently serves as Senior Manager of Growth and Development at the USTA National Campus here in Orlando. In this position, she leads marketing efforts, oversees food and beverage vendor management, and contributes to strategic planning for the growth of the campus. Her role has led to significant impacts on the business, including the introduction of new products and support for major events such as the NCAA Championships and the Billie Jean King Cup. Meet Diego Leal, our talented Padel coach with over three years of experience in the sport! Originally from Venezuela, Diego moved to the U.S. at 18, bringing his competitive tennis background and love for Padel. He now competes in the United States Padel Association (USPA) circuit and professional tournaments sanctioned by the Federación Internacional de Padel (FIP). His passion for the sport and growing demand led him to transition from part-time to full-time coaching. Today, he is a Senior Padel coach at the #USTANationalCampus, offering group and private lessons, organizing tournaments, and developing the next generation of players. Diego is certified by USPTA, PADELMBA, and PCR and serves as a coach developer for PADELMBA/USPTA certifications. He even coaches the #1 ranked player in the country (USPA)! We’re excited to have him share his expertise and passion with our community. #HispanicHeritageMonth
