This award was presented at StriveTogether’s annual convening, and honors individuals who show exceptional leadership and dedication to ensuring every child has the support they need for economic mobility. Thank you to all who attended our Promise Partnership Block Party! We had such an amazing time celebrating the achievements of our educators, and civic, nonprofit, and community partners. Some highlights of the event included food trucks, roller skating, STEM activities, and a resource fair.

We are proud to announce the findings of a multi-year project in which UWSL was a key contributor. The collaborative report titled “Investing in Our Future” shares the results of a unique pay-for-success (PFS) funding structure that successfully expanded access to high-quality preschool for thousands of Utah children and led to significant improvements in the state’s early-childhood education landscape. Meet Women United member and filmmaker, Loren Micalizio, our next Women’s History Month highlight! Storytelling and connection have always been at the heart of Micalizio’s work, from her career in production at Adobe, to creating her own feature films, and volunteer production support for non-profit organizations. The women in Micalizio's life have inspired and informed her work throughout the years, especially her grandmother who came from very little and was able to build a successful dance studio at home in Southern California. Utah’s Promise and Maycomb Capital announced a partnership that will improve outcomes in Utah. In celebration of Women’s History Month, we are highlighting Women United members - leaders in our community. Candyce Fly Lee grew up in a single parent home and when she saw how Women United and her local Pittsburg United Way supported single moms in the area, she felt compelled to get involved with the work. “Finding ways to give back has always been important to me, especially doing things that support other women,” Candyce shared.
