With the support of the Upper Valley community, the Haven assists those who are experiencing poverty to be free from hunger, to be securely housed, and to pursue a self-directed life. Founded in 1980, the Haven provides food, temporary shelter, supportive housing, children’s after school and summer programs, community outreach, and problem solving support to those in need. The Haven is open 365 days per year and never charges for any of its services. We now serve over 14,500 people per year.

April 15th marked the conclusion of the inaugural season of the Lebanon Seasonal Shelter. Safely accommodating 53 individuals during the coldest months of the winter underscored the pressing need for more affordable housing and shelter options. We're grateful for the opportunity extended by the City of Lebanon to manage this shelter, offering a safe haven, community service, social support, and nourishment to all. Construction is well underway by Twin Pines Housing for an 18-unit apartment building on Hartford Avenue adjacent to the Haven. The eighteen one-bedroom apartments are for chronically homeless adults. This building will provide permanent housing for its residents, who will receive community case management services from the Haven in addition to services provided by Twin Pines’ staff. It will help meet the need for permanent housing with supportive services from those who have experienced long-term homelessness. #communitypartnership
