The Vertical Flight Society has announced its awards for 2025 to be presented at a grand banquet at #Forum81 on May 22 in Virginia Beach, Virginia! The VFS awards since 1944 have honored leaders of #verticalflight. https://lnkd.in/gC8EUw4n The 2025 recipient of the Dr. Alexander Klemin Award, the highest honor the Society bestows on an individual, is Dr. Michael Torok for notable achievement in advancing the field of vertical flight aeronautics. The VFS 2025 Honorary Fellows are highly distinguished VFS members who have made exceptional contributions to the vertical flight community: John O’Neill and Mike Hirschberg, The VFS Technical Fellow recipients are: Glen Knaust, Dr. Hao Kang, Dr. Klausdieter Pahlke, and Thomas H. Maier. The VFS John J. Schneider Historical Achievement Award recipient is Harry Pember, author and founder of the Igor I. Sikorsky Historical Archives. The 2025 annual François-Xavier Bagnoud Award is given to Society members who are 35 years old or younger. This year’s two outstanding award recipients are Dr. Vera Klimchenko and Dr. Umberto Saetti. The VFS Paul E. Haueter Award for technical contribution to VTOL aircraft development other than a helicopter or an operational vertical flight aircraft is awarded to Jim Tighe chief technology officer at Wisk Aero. VFS and the Stoll Family are proud to unveil a new award in memory of Alex M. Stoll. The 2025 winner of the Alex M. Stoll Award is Dr. Natasha Schatzman, PhD.
