We are proud to champion the next generation of talent in our industry. Our VP of Architecture, Amber Holycross AIA, LEED AP, chairs the AIA Emerging Professionals Committee, which provides essential resources and networking opportunities to help young professionals grow in their careers. Aimee Treis, AIA, a project manager at Wendel, leads the Scholarship Committee, awarding $4,500 scholarships to merit students in architecture. At the latest AIA Buffalo/WNY Annual Meeting, one of our talented young designers, Sumanth Thummala, represented Amber and was able to share important updates with AIA members and the public. #ThisIsWendel

In case you missed it, Wendel's #PublicSafety team was featured by Fire Apparatus Magazine for having built two fire stations in La Crosse WI in the same year. Read the full article at the link below! #ThisIsWendel
WENDEL Companies Builds Two Stations for La Crosse (WI) FD in Same Year: https://ow.ly/ORmP50TTsKx Wendel, and its associated companies Five Bugles Design and Mitchell Associates Architects, was tasked with designing and building two fire stations for La Crosse (WI) Fire Department after a feasibility study determined the need for updated stations. But the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent supply chain building materials shortages stretched out the building timelines to the point that Wendel was working on both stations at the same time. “I’d never recommend building two fire stations in the same year,” says Jeff Schott, La Crosse’s chief. He says La Crosse had initially planned to build a new Station 4 and demolish the old station which was woefully inadequate, but after the public got the old Station 4 placed on a historic registry, work had to stop and additional properties were purchased to site the new Station 4. While that was happening, design and construction began on Station 2.
