    Intrusive advertising is gradually becoming less effective; there are many other ways to promote brands and communicate their messages and values to the audience. Two prominent methods are branded content and content created by brands. While these approaches may seem similar, they have fundamental differences, and we’ll explain why. While branded content looks for a perfect context to seamlessly blend into the audience’s media consumption, such as movies, videos, and TV shows, content created by brands conveys the brand philosophy themselves without directly advertising a particular product. Branded content, when strategically placed in cult series and films, can create powerful associations between iconic characters and specific brands. For example, Carrie Bradshaw is synonymous with Manolo Blahnik, Marty McFly with Nike sneakers, and James Bond with Aston Martin (even though the hero changes cars repeatedly throughout the films). On the other hand, Barbie is a prime example of brand-produced content, similar to the Lego Movie, the Arcane series, NFL Tuesday Night Gaming, and the Air movie. These productions are designed to promote the brand while captivating audiences through engaging and entertaining narratives.     How to make indie game development scene more recognizable and bigger? The answer is - OTK Games Expo. Starting from 2022 OTK Media and WePlay Studios bring one of the biggest exhibitions of the indie game development scene with this year being no exception. One of the slogans of the show is "Discover the next big indie hit!". And that's right spot on as the show gives a unique spotlight for the indie game developers to shine with new amazing hits! Here are some of the features of the OTK Games Expo 2024 broadcast: 🎸 Jay the Bard Intro. Show opened with a huge hit - a dynamic performance from the Bard. Song lyrics were dedicated to this year's iteration of the show and all its genres/categories. Great intro sets a great tone for the whole show; 🔥 8 categories. Show was well built structure wise with segments such as Adventure, Action, Shooter, Platformer, Strategy, Cozy, Horror and Fighting. Each category highlighted 4 different games, Q&A with the developer and even the gameplay segment where OTK talents had a chance to try out new releases before they go to the market! 🎮 Gaming Couch. For this year the approach was fun and chill. OTK talent play some of the new showcased games in different modes: 1v1, single player, 4 player modes. World’s Worst Handyman, Smack Studio, Splodey, Pull/Stay and many others revealed their premiere gameplay on the show; 💥 World Reveals. Having a huge reveal is an integral part for every kind of Expo. Each reveal brings new viewers and adds more excitement about each following segment of the show as you never know what comes next. In addition to the main program this year's Expo had dozen of standalone activations. Dark and Darker, Legacy Steel & Sorcery, Diabotical Rogue, The Bazaar had their takeovers in different parts of the show; 🍄 Mad Mushroom showcase. Agency gave updates to the well-know realeases such as Atomic Picnic and Rumble Club. Fand were also surprised by 2 new releases - Claws & Chaos and Splodey. Splodey received praises from the community and OTK Talent as the exclusive gameplay was showcased during the show multiple times; 🧑💻 Dev for Hire. Special segment reflecting modern reality of the industry. OTK and Cash App are actively helping both developers and studios by special grants and focusing attention to unique personalities and true professionals; ❗️Viewers Choice. Once again OTK and CashApp provided a special 50k grant that was split between 5 studios picked by the chat. Such engagement gives audience the possibility to contribute to their favourite games here and now; 5 hours of runtime, more than 200k average viewers overall peaking at 279k viewers show was broadcasted on multiple channels including Steam and IGN Entertainment.     😎 On July 4th, OTK Media and WePlay Studios hosted the third annual #OTKGamesExpo, showcasing groundbreaking and unique indie projects in the gaming industry. The event was a resounding success, peaking at 280,000 viewers and accumulating 977,000 hours of watch time during the broadcast. Attendees had the opportunity to explore over 50 games across 8 different categories, witness several world premieres, and vote for their favorite projects. Each viewer’s choice award has been converted into $10,000 for the winning developers. We believe the success of OTK Games Expo 2024 highlights the rewarding collaboration between the creative teams at OTK and WePlay Studios.     FaZe Clan 2010-forever. Yesterday, three Call of Duty legends came together at the WePlay Studios to host a once-in-a-lifetime event. The spectacle was an incredible six-hour broadcast full of nostalgic faces and games that culminated in the 1v1 of Nadeshot vs. Banks. Zoomph tracked the buzz around the event across 52 posts, from the founding fathers to journalists like Jake Lucky. With over 24 million impressions, 410k engagements, and over $550k in post value across the event, FaZe Clan's Instagram ultimately came out on top with their three posts surrounding the event garnering over 150k engagements. OpTic Gaming also bolstered a 8.28% engagement rate across their two Instagram posts as well. The event was broadcast on Twitch across Scump, Nadeshot, and Zoomaa's channels (some FaZe Clan talent were also livestreaming the event on other social platforms). The three major co-stream broadcasts saw a total hours watched of 377k hours, and there were over 62,000 average concurrent viewers throughout the event. The broadcasts peaked at almost 95,000 concurrent viewers as Banks gave his victory speech to close out an amazing event. Although there were no official sponsors of the event, I loved how the broadcast crew kept sponsors involved as the appropriate rotating digital logos across Optic Scump and 100 Thieves Nadeshot streams were still running during the event. The inclusion of each respective team's drink sponsors placed around the booths was also a chef's kiss to the already diligent prep the Weplay team did in anticipation of this event. It will be exciting to see if more events like The Founding Fathers LAN will be in the works in the future!
