Producing High-Performance, U.S.-made Cathodes
About us
Wildcat's mission is to produce high-performance U.S.-made cathodes to enable the widespread adoption of clean energy. The company plans to manufacture a portfolio of nickel- and cobalt-free cathodes at a plant it builds in the United States. It also leverages its 15 years of materials development to help customers achieve the best-integrated battery cell. Customers will have access to LFP, LMFP, and DRX materials produced at the Wildcat plant. Founded in 2006, Wildcat’s vision is to be the first choice for battery material development, integration, and supply. In addition to production, the company’s unique high-throughput platform enables comprehensive materials experiments to be done 10 times faster than conventional methods. In collaboration with 80 companies, Wildcat has optimized solutions for battery components in 225 projects and 400,000 experiments spanning multiple industries. Wildcat was named one of the “50 Most Innovative Companies” by Technology Review magazine. Wildcat is pursuing partnership and collaboration opportunities with corporate leaders throughout the battery supply chain, including global material suppliers, cell makers, and OEM’s throughout the automotive, electronics, medical, military, and consumer products industries.

We are excited to share we have entered into an offtake term sheet with Wildcat Discovery Technologies for the sale of high-purity manganese product from EMN’s Chvaletice Manganese Project. Based in San Diego, California, Wildcat partners with global leaders throughout the battery industry to align and integrate all elements of the full #batterycell for optimal performance. Our President & CEO, Matt James said, “This is another major milestone for Euro Manganese and for the western market battery value chain. This long-term offtake term sheet represents a significant percentage of the planned production of the Chvaletice Manganese Project over time. An important value proposition is our product does not originate from, or is processed by, a foreign entity of concern, a key purchasing criteria for North American customers For full details, read the press release here: https://bit.ly/4g1wANk #termsheet #offtake #HighPurityManganese #BatteryRawMaterials #ElectricVehicles #EV #EMN #CleanEnergy

Mark your calendars for August 13-15! Dee Strand, PhD, CSO of Wildcat, will present at the Solid-State Battery Summit in Chicago. Be part of the conversation and learn from the industry's leading experts. We hope to see you there! #SolidStateBatterySummit #batterytechnology #batterymaterials
Progress and Challenges in Composite Solid-State Electrolytes with Dee Strand from Wildcat Discovery Technologies. Solid ion conductors require both high ionic conductivity and good processing/interfacial properties. Composite materials can combine the properties of fast ion-conducting ceramics with the good processability of polymers. This presentation will show current results for these materials integrated into all-solid-state batteries. Similar challenges exist for composite materials compared to other solid electrolytes in terms of stability at both the cathode and the anode, which will be reviewed. https://lnkd.in/davw7MK #CET4SolidState

CHARGED Electric Vehicles Magazine this week features Wildcat and our new strategy to produce cathode materials in the US. In an interview with President and CEO Mark Gresser, Charged highlights how Wildcat’s new cathode designs provide an alternative to materials produced in China. “In the near term, we will produce LFP and be one of the first US producers of a really fast-growing cathode material. Then we can use the same suite of equipment and the same process steps to produce both LMFP and our new DRX material,” Mark said. Check out the interview with Mark to learn more about where our company is headed. #CleanEnergy #BatteryTech #EV #CathodeMaterials
