Day 1 of the Wisconsin Perinatal Conference was a success! We started the day with a powerful plenary on the Psychology of Change by Veronica Gillispie-Bell, MD, MAS exploring how to manage change to drive progress in perinatal care. We engaged in many thought-provoking discussions covering topics like advocacy, quality improvement, social drivers of health, and more. Thanks to the Periscope Project for having us to talk about our initiative to improve care for pregnant and postpartum people with substance use disorders (SUDs). The initiative consists of 20 hospital teams across Wisconsin and focuses on improving identification and treatment of SUDs and preventing overdoses.
