WJBF NewsChannel 6 signed on in Augusta, Georgia as an ABC affiliate in November 1953 and is owned by Nexstar Media Group. WJBF–TV has been awarded the prestigious "Station of Year" award by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters in 1994, 1995, 1996, 2000, and 2003. This prestigious award recognizes WJBF for excellence in broadcasting and service to the community. Our Mission Statement: To envision our responsibilities to the community and act. To anticipate our viewers and client's needs and respond. To inspire and promote positive values by giving more to the community we serve. Our number one goal is to live up to this statement. WJBF NewsChannel 6 is committed to keeping the CSRA informed. We are the only station in Augusta with full–time capital reporters in Atlanta, GA and Columbia, SC, three meteorologists, the area's only LIVE Doppler Radar, and the largest news staff in the CSRA.

BREAKING NEWS 🚨🗞️ I would like to reintroduce myself as Chief Meteorologist Jenna Petracci!!! I am honored to announce that I have been promoted at WJBF NewsChannel 6. I have now accomplished my ultimate career goal in my mid 20s, in a city that I have grown to love over the past 3+ years. I am honored to be the first female chief meteorologist in Augusta, Georgia. To my fiancé, family, friends, weather team, and all of my coworkers: thank you for never doubting that I could achieve this. To the CSRA, a huge thank you to all of you that have been here from the start. I was a different meteorologist back in 2021, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t still have a lot of growing to do. I do not take this role lightly, and I promise to work hard to provide you with accurate forecasts, and keep you safe and informed. I am always here if you have questions about the weather, and I look forward to seeing many of you around town over the years to come. In the meantime, you will see me every Monday-Friday at 5, 6, 7, 10 & 11pm! 🎉
Today was our Chief Meteorologist Tim Miller’s last day on air! Though we’re sad to see him go, Tim will now mentor the next generation of meteorologists with a new position at the University of Florida. Tim introduced several innovations to our weather coverage and brought incredible talent to our weather team. That talent includes our new Chief Meteorologist, Jenna Petracci! She starts her new role on Monday. We’re excited for what she will continue to bring to our weather team and the community.
