“We want nutrition clubs in schools.” “We want clean water.” “We want food that helps us grow.” These are the voices of Somali children who participated in the 2024 Nutrition Dialogues facilitated by World Vision to address #malnutrition, especially among vulnerable women and children in low-income households! The #children shared their solutions rooted in experience. As global leaders meet in Paris, for the Nutrition for Growth Summit, we echo their call! #N4G #N4GParis #CommunityVoices #WorldVision #ENOUGH

On this #GratitudeTuesday, we say a heartfelt #thankyou to @GlobalFund! Your generous support to the TB Control Programme in Somalia, alongside contributions from our valued private donors, has enabled us to bring life-saving TB services closer to the most affected communities since 2005. We’re especially proud of the progress made in expanding access to TB diagnosis, treatment, and care through:🔹 114 TB Management Units across the country as of 2024. In 2024, we partnered with a growing network of over 700 community healthcare providers, including more than 500 trained female Community Health Workers in 2024. These frontline heroes are helping ensure timely detection, treatment, and care for thousands of people Together, YES! Today, we join the global community to mark World Tuberculosis (TB) Day, a moment to raise awareness, reflect on progress, acknowledge ongoing challenges, and renew our collective commitment to end TB. This year’s theme, “YES! We can end TB: Commit. Invest. Deliver.” is a call to action, urging all of us to strengthen leadership, invest in proven and innovative solutions, and deliver on promises to accelerate progress. TB remains a serious public health threat in Somalia. Yet, meaningful progress is being made to expand access to diagnosis, treatment, and care. We’re deeply proud of the work across our TB programmes, supported by Global Fund and private donors, powered by community health workers and government partners, and driven by our shared mission to end TB. 📖 Learn more: Read the full article in link below as Dr Norbert Rakiro Chief of Party for World Vision Somalia’s Global Fund TB Programme, shares reflections on the progress, challenges, and the path ahead toward achieving Somalia’s End TB Strategy by 2030. https://lnkd.in/d73ek-uv #WorldTBDay #WorldTuberculosisDay #EndTB #GlobalFund

Last year with the incredible support of our donors, we brought clean water💧 to nearly 85,000 people! addressing critical gaps faced by children and their families. Through engagement with affected communities, we constructed new water supply systems for community use, rehabilitated broken water systems to restore functionality, and upgraded existing infrastructure to improve water access. On this World Water Day, we celebrate this #impact as we spotlight our Somali Joint Response (SOMJR) project implemented in three regions in Somaliland, including Togdheer, funded by the Dutch Relief Alliance (DRA) through World Vision Netherlands. This project is impacting the lives of 10,000 people! 🧡 @DutchRelief @WorldVisionNe #WorldWaterDay #CleanWater #WaterFoAll #WaterisLife #SDG6

World Vision’s ENOUGH Campaign to end child hunger and malnutrition believes that children must be at the heart of policies addressing hunger, nutrition, and food security. When we launched the campaign in Somalia in July 2024, we affirmed this, ensuring that children are not only present at decision-making tables but that their ideas drive real action. During the launch, children boldly called on decision-makers and policymakers to see them and hear them. We got to work! Turning those words into action! Through child-led nutrition dialogues, for example, we’re creating spaces for children to share their lived experiences with hunger and malnutrition, and amplify the voices of those most affected so that they inform policies and decisions that shape their daily lives. Pictured: Children in Puntland state, participating in nutrition dialogues through the Grow Enrich project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and World Vision Germany. The project focuses on strengthening systems to improve child and maternal health and nutrition. World Vision Somali reposted this
"Believe in yourself. Know that you are enough. In fact, you're more than enough." Women and girls bring so much to the table, just like Lucy does as a humanitarian for World Vision. We celebrate all our female staff who are making a difference in the lives of children everyday. 🧡 Happy International Women's Day. #IWD2025 #WomensDay #WeAreWorldVision

Happy International Women’s Day! As we reflect on this year’s theme, ‘Accelerate Action,’ we honour the strength and resilience of #women who, against the odds, continue to inspire change. Let’s shine a light on their incredible stories. Meet Hamda, a young mother of two. Like so many #girls, Hamda’s dreams were put on hold by deep-rooted traditions and circumstances beyond her control. For most young women her age, this would be the final year of university. But for Hamda, it’s the start of an education journey she once thought impossible. Thanks to the support of World Vision Ireland through the Irish Aid funded Enabling Meaningful Participation of Women and Girls for Essential Rights (EMPOWER) project, Hamda is back in class, breaking barriers and rewriting her story. Join us in celebrating the unstoppable spirit of girls and women everywhere, as you watch Hamda’s inspiring story in the video. #InternationalWomensDay #AccelerateAction #ForAllWomenAndGirls #IWD2025
