Yesterday, the United Nations adopted the "Pact for the Future," which calls on member states to place culture at the center of #sustainabledevelopment plans and strengthen actions to address #climatechange.
We applaud this pact and are proud to showcase the role #culturalheritage can play in building more #sustainable futures through our work with communities around the globe.
As a part of our new Climate Heritage Initiative, we’re redoubling our commitment to using cultural heritage to drive #climate action by:
💧 Rehabilitating historic water infrastructure, including five key sites in India.
🌿 Using #culturalheritage as a tool to help historic places of cultivation adapt to and mitigate the impacts of #climatechange, with lessons learned from the Potager du Roi.
🌊 Developing a series of reliable resources for coastal sites around the world threatened by the impact of #climatechange in partnership with English Heritage.
🪷 Creating greener greenhouses by designing models for sustainable energy transition at important historic buildings, like The Palm House and Waterlily House at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
