Over the past 15+ years, iron contamination in FCCUs has increased by >25%, driven by the rise in processing of high-iron feedstocks like shale oil. Left unchecked, iron poisoning reduces catalyst effectiveness and compromises unit performance. We’ve done the research, backed by extensive benchmarking, laboratory evaluations, and protocol enhancements. Now we introduce a three-pronged approach to mitigating iron risks and unveil our breakthrough research protocol, providing data-driven solutions for more efficient and reliable operations. APIs don’t make themselves, and neither do strong supply chains. For pharmaceutical companies developing new active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), a secure and integrated supply chain helps keep production on track. 📈 That’s why choosing the right manufacturing partner matters. A U.S.-based network with in-house regulatory starting materials (RSMs) can keep production reliable and built for scale. So how does that work in practice? 🤔 Brian Graves, Global Business Manager, Fine Chemicals, and Robert Hughes, Research Fellow, break down our process in this video. #Pharmaceuticals #Biotechnology #Manufacturing #SupplyChainManagement

Refiners know opportunity when they see it. Processing heavier, lower-cost feedstocks can unlock serious value, but only if your FCC unit can handle the challenge. High-metal crudes bring higher coke yields, more hydrogen production, and operating constraints that can cut into profitability. FUSION® catalyst is designed specifically for resid conversion. By combining two advanced technologies into a novel matrix-binding system, it can help refiners push past limitations and maximize their FCC potential. It’s not theory. The technology has been commercially proven in applications in different parts of the world. Process heavier crudes with confidence. The average drug development timeline is still 10+ years. But, with the advancement and application of AI and ML, we could see a material impact on the time it takes to get a new drug to market in the future. In The Multifaceted Future of Pharma series from The Medicine Maker, Robert Hughes, Research Fellow at Grace, explores the different ways AI-driven advancements could accelerate the approval timeline. A new chapter begins for our Manufacturing Leadership Program (MLP) participants! 🎓 Last month, we kicked off their 2025 journey by welcoming all 27 MLP participants to our Columbia headquarters for a three-day summit filled with hands-on learning and career development. They heard from Grace leaders, tackled real-world challenges in interactive sessions, and even toured our Curtis Bay, Maryland site. A huge thank you to everyone who made this event a success—our speakers, organizers, and most importantly, the participants. We can't wait to see how they grow throughout the program! If you’re interested in joining our 2026 cohort, applications will open in the fall. You can learn more here: https://lnkd.in/edD4nAaS #CareerDevelopment #Leadership #Manufacturing

The European Food Safety Authority has reaffirmed that synthetic amorphous silica (SAS) poses no safety concerns as a food additive. For those of us in the industry, this isn’t surprising, but it is hugely validating. SAS has been used for decades to keep powdered and granular foods flowing smoothly and to prevent clumping. Now, with the backing of the EFSA—one of the most important global standards for scientific advice—food manufacturers can continue using SAS with confidence, knowing it meets the highest safety and regulatory standards. Read our blog for more on the implications of the EFSA’s opinion: https://lnkd.in/dhJy58gY #FoodSafety #EFSA
