Job Title: Credit Risk Manager

Job Description: As a Credit Risk Manager, your main responsibility is to assess and manage the credit risk exposure of a financial institution or organization. You will analyze credit data, develop risk assessment models, and implement strategies to mitigate credit risk while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Credit Risk Assessment:
    • Evaluate the creditworthiness of individuals, businesses, or counterparties applying for credit facilities or loans.
    • Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information to assess repayment capacity and credit risk.
  • Risk Management Strategies:
    • Develop and implement credit risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to minimize credit losses and optimize risk-adjusted returns.
    • Establish credit limits, terms, and conditions based on risk assessments and regulatory requirements.
  • Credit Scoring and Modeling:
    • Utilize statistical methods and credit scoring models to predict credit risk and determine appropriate risk mitigation measures.
    • Monitor and refine credit risk models based on historical data, market trends, and portfolio performance.
  • Portfolio Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Monitor the credit portfolio performance, identify trends, and assess the impact of economic factors on credit risk.
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations on credit risk metrics, portfolio quality, and mitigation strategies for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, lending standards, and internal credit policies.
    • Stay informed about regulatory changes and industry best practices related to credit risk management.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with underwriters, loan officers, and other departments to assess credit applications, structure transactions, and mitigate credit risks.
    • Communicate credit risk findings, recommendations, and strategies effectively to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Credit Risk Mitigation:
    • Implement risk mitigation strategies, such as collateral requirements, credit enhancements, and credit insurance, to reduce credit risk exposure.
    • Monitor early warning signs of credit deterioration and take proactive measures to address potential risks.
