Position Overview

The Accounting and Finance Manager oversees general accounting, cost accounting, accounts payable, payroll, and treasury functions. This role ensures accurate processing and control of financial transactions and prepares timely financial reports to support company decision-making.

Job Duties

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and distribute financial statements and statistical information monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Staff Management: Oversee accounting and payroll staff and systems.
  • Inventory and Cost Accounting: Ensure accurate cost of sales and inventory balances.
  • Account Reconciliation: Manage monthly key account reconciliations and year-end audit preparations.
  • Accounts Payable: Ensure timely vendor payments and compliance with Form 1099 tax regulations.
  • Payroll Management: Oversee payroll systems for accurate and timely employee wage payments; manage UKG payroll software for tax compliance.
  • Treasury Management: Control cash, checks, and ACH payments.
  • Communication: Provide accounting information and analysis to management.
  • Employee Development: Train and develop staff.
  • System Implementation: Participate in new system selections and implementations.
  • Special Projects: Handle special projects as requested by senior management.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years in accounting, including financial statements, financial analysis, budgeting, and accounting controls.
  • Public Accounting: At least three years in public accounting, with an active or inactive CPA.
  • Supervisory Experience: Three years supervising as an Accounting Manager or Controller, including Accounts Payable.
  • Payroll Supervision: Experience managing payroll for a large employee base.
  • Software Skills: Desired experience with UKG, cost accounting, and NetSuite software.
