Kleinfelder’s Oklahoma City office is currently seeking a creative, highly talented, entry level geotechnical engineer to become an expert in its geotechnical engineering discipline in Oklahoma. Kleinfelder’s Oklahoma operations are supporting major transportation, oil and gas, power and water projects in Oklahoma and other locations nationally.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating services with internal and external teams, performing geotechnical engineering design, preparing proposals, and assisting project managers executing projects with integrity and a drive to succeed. The successful candidate will be required to ensure high client service by providing constructible designs, meeting deadlines and creating clear communications with our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field explorations and collect soil and rock samples.
  • Perform in-situ geotechnical and geological testing.
  • Assign laboratory testing programs for soils and rock samples.
  • Analyze field and laboratory testing results and prepare calculation package.
  • Perform geotechnical engineering evaluation and prepare technical memorandums and reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide support to project management team.

Requirements:

  • Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, Including Word, Excel, and Power Point preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, supervisors, clients, subcontractors and regulators.
  • BS in Civil Engineering and MS in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical emphasis.
  • EIT is preferred (or the ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • Ability to travel up to 75 percent of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
