Individual Giving Coordinator

The Individual Giving Coordinator provides a wide range of support and project coordination to frontline fundraisers. Core responsibilities include project management of bi-annual fundraising appeals, tracking activity in donor database, writing gift acknowledgment letters and other donor outreach, preparing solicitation and meeting materials, and assisting with fundraising events and activities. The ideal candidate will have strong computer, communication, and organizational skills, and enjoy working in a mission-centric and fast-paced environment and collaborating with staff, leadership, and other stakeholders. This position requires attention to detail, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Record accurate donor data, activity, appeals, mailings, meetings, events, and committee meeting attendance in Raiser’s Edge.

Prepare meeting materials, and manage follow-up to committees by email, telephone, and in writing as necessary and updates to Raiser’s Edge. Schedule Zoom calls or conference rooms and assist with set-up as needed, distribute reminders, and assemble materials.

In coordination with supervisor, execute and manage, bi-annual fundraising appeals and direct marketing plans, including collaboration with external mail house, frontline fundraisers, and Marketing team.

Draft appeals, stewardship outreach, manage special projects from start to finish working across teams, create and monitor timelines, and execute mailings.

Provide fundraising and donor relation support on Annual Fund programs including Boston Marathon team, Friends Council, Visionaries as needed.

Compile data requests and project request forms as needed.

Help plan and attend donor cultivation events and assist with recognition and stewardship initiatives to help retain, recognize, and attract donors to BGCB.

Maintain Individual Giving budgets, including tracking expenses, managing invoices and reimbursement process.

Assist Assistant Director of Individual Giving with the planning and execution of Friends Council initiatives including quarterly cultivation events, volunteer events, and their signature fundraising events, the Fall Fundraiser and A Night With Friends.

Provide administrative support as needed.

Work with Development Team to meet annual fundraising goal.

Position Requirements

Writing sample required!

Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience, preferably working in development or with a variety of audiences such as management, Board members, funders, and/or consultants.

Interest and commitment to BGCB’s mission.

Excellent organizational, planning, implementation, and follow-through skills, ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.

Self-starter who enjoys problem-solving and exercises good judgment in dealing with multiple variables, and seeks information through questions and research.

High level of interpersonal skills to handle confidential information, ability to effectively interact with or present information and respond to questions from a wide variety of audiences, and comfortable working with volunteers and other stakeholders.

Motivated to work independently and as part of a team, takes initiative, and meets deadlines.

Ability to work accurately and efficiently and be adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

MS Office proficiency required, and experience with databases, Zoom, and MS Teams preferred.

Flexibility and sense of humor.

Must be able to travel between sites for meetings and events.

Some early morning, evening, and weekend required.
