Join the Defense and Intelligence Solutions Division as a Software Engineering Section Manager where you will lead top software developers who provide solutions for next generation signal intelligence systems that span various customer organizations and requirements for Air, Land, and Sea platforms.
Objectives of this Role:
Manage and mentor a staff of high performing software developers and work with these staff to build and maintain both their technical expertise and long-term careers. Additionally, help recruit additional software development staff to expand the software business areas.
Develop strong Customer business relationships and help to build programs with a focus on understanding Customer mission needs and developing the right technological solutions to meet the needs.
Interact with and support various organizational business teams, coordinate software development needs for programs and basis of estimates for software development tasks. Assist with proposal development, requirements refinement, technical approaches, etc.
Communicate effectively with onsite and remote staff, regarding technical solutions, technical questions, documenting procedures, program and organizational, and implementation processes to meet Customer mission, program, and Division needs.
Serve as a team player who is excited to work with people, with a variety of technologies, and enjoys solving many different and challenging problems.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
Provide line level management for a group of software developers, to include mentoring, coordinating program tasking, guiding in career development, conducting performance reviews, and other responsibilities in line with company personnel policies and procedures.
Expand software development staff teams through active staff recruiting, job fairs, interviewing, and hiring activities.
Understand program business and technical requirements, as well as oversee and drive the development and integration of software solutions and technologies to deliver against program strategies and needs.
Work with peers to establish and continuously maturing software development standards and practices in line with evolving industry standards to maintain relevancies in the software development field. Support innovative thinking and internal research and development projects.
Build new business opportunities and support proposing new work across the organization's areas of expertise and in line with its strategic goals.
Support proposals from a software development standpoint.
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelors with a 3.00 GPA in Software Engineering, Software Development, or directly related with related experience
10 years: Leading technology and software engineering teams, conducting performance reviews, and career development of direct reports
Experience with designing, developing, and leading software solutions to meet customer requirements
Experience with assisting with proposals, both writing and estimates for software development solutions
Using excellent technical communications skills, both verbal and written, are required
The ability to proactively research and understand new software and technologies
Being detailed oriented and self directed is required
A valid/clear driver's license is required
