Video Producer
We’re looking for recently graduated or early career producers, editors and shooters to join our international video production team, and to work with us to produce films that explore the solutions to the biggest issues facing the world today.
About us
We’re WebsEdge – a knowledge-driven media company based in London, Washington DC and Denver, with a mission to help the brightest minds address the world’s most pressing problems. We produce films at the cutting edge of an ever-expanding range of fields – from neuroscience, to space science, psychiatry to genetics – working with the world’s biggest associations, federations, universities, hospitals and many more groups besides. Our Team
Our producers work across all of this, collaborating directly with leading scientists, doctors, community leaders and more, to give them a voice in sharing the game-changing work that the rest of the world will be talking about in the months or years to come. We do this by producing 20 minute television shows, in-depth interviews and compelling short clips for social media, on site and daily at conferences across the country, as well as making five-minute documentary style videos at some of the biggest institutions and research facilities in the world.
The Role
We’re initially looking for someone to join our team full time for two months to help pre-produce and edit our videos, as well as heading out across the country to shoot and edit content at some of our major conferences. You’ll be based at our Georgetown, Washington DC office, with hybrid working options available, working closely with our experienced producers to learn the role and build up your skillset in scheduling, outlining, question writing, shooting and editing videos. An aptitude for some or all of these is great, so please make sure to share a showreel with examples of work you’ve done and to confirm that you’re available for travel.
To fill this role you should:
● Have an active interest in some or all of the subject areas we work in;
● Be creative and able to work with clients to turn complex, often highly technical, stories into a compelling and clear outline for a video.
● Be highly organised and disciplined in managing your own schedule.
● Be a fast and confident video editor, and either a capable camera operator or keen to learn.
We would be offering a full-time monthly rate of $4,500 initially. Longer term we are looking to hire for this role permanently, with benefits, but would review after the initial period of work was up.
We’re excited to hear from you, and looking forward to welcoming new talent to our team. Please get in touch with examples of your work, or reach out if you have any questions.
