Last month, our CEO, Daniel Perdomo, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Good Neighbor Club at the Andrew and Walter Young Family YMCA. He had the pleasure of meeting Dominique Wilkins, as a special court was dedicated to the Hawks legend. This renovated project will continue to provide safe and engaging environments for our youth. 5 Points is honored to work on meaningful projects that give back to the Atlanta community! 🏀 #atlanta #5pointselectrical #atlanta #atlantahawks #YMCA #goodneighborclub

For those of you who don't know, I have other passions outside of accounting! One of those is Templeogue United. My connection started as an eager 5-year-old who thought he would one day play for Ireland and Manchester United... we all need to dream. I was fortunate enough to be elected as Chair of the Club's Executive Committee in 2021 after being on the committee since 2013. We embarked on an audacious project in late 2020 to complete a full refurbishment of the ground floor of our existing clubhouse and are now just a few months away from completion. This project would not be possible without the help and support of the following: 1. The Volunteers: The many volunteers who keep our club running and provide happiness (and some sadness!) to approximately 600 boys and girls every week. These volunteers often double up as coaches, players, committee members, and fundraisers. 2. The Parents: The parents who make a big effort to get their kids to training, matches, and camps throughout the year. We rely on the yearly subscriptions to support the club's costs, and we wouldn't be able to survive without the timely receipt of these amounts. On this topic, we extend our gratitude to ClubZap, who have transformed the administrative process of registering players. 3. Sponsors and Financial Institutions: Our goal is to provide best-in-class facilities to our members and the wider community. To do this, we rely on the support of many sponsors. From sponsoring new kits to funding trips away, the generosity of certain people knows no bounds. We have too many sponsors to mention, but thank you all! For such a big project like the clubhouse refurbishment, we still needed more, and this is where our partnership with Heritage Credit Union Dublin became a priority. Their help and support have been invaluable. Special thanks to Alan Roche and Niall Manning QFA PB. We share a common goal, community engagement! 4. Grant support: We received a grant through the Sports Capital Programme, which would not have been possible without the support of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, the Football Association of Ireland, South Dublin County Council, and the various TDs and councillors who supported our application. Finally, it would be remiss of me not to include a plug for a major fundraiser that we are running to assist with the cost of delivering this project. We will run a raffle with over €60k in prizes, with the 1st prize being a new Ford Puma. Please buy a ticket and support this project 🙏 Link to our website - https://lnkd.in/eMxBQGVa #templeogueunited #CommunityDevelopment #volunteers #grassrootsfootball #fai #sdcc The National Lottery Party City Stuart Fagan Chris Pratt Andy McNulty Keith McDonald

Would you say YES to the Y? I did. ✋ You would, too, if you check out the YMCA of Hamilton|Burlington|Brantford's new strategic plan for 2024-28. At the board table, we call it the YES strategy. The focus? Youth, Employees and Seniors. YES! For a charity serving communities across three municipalities, strong internal capability (employees) is essential to meet the needs of a broad spectrum of people, from youth (under 30) to older adults (seniors). This plan was a year in the making, with board members, senior staff, employees and community partners engaged at different points during the process. For the past 2-3 years, many organizations have had to put a pause on long-term plans and focus on the immediate COVID-19 crisis in front of them. That's why this strategic plan is a point of pride for the Y of HBB; it's the first fulsome strategic plan as the organization recovers and rebuilds from the pandemic. So, do say YES to the Y. ⬇
We’re thrilled to share Igniting Potential to Save Lives – our new Strategic Plan that will guide our YMCA over the next five years. Read on to learn more about our visionary roadmap designed to ignite potential in the lives of young people, our employees and seniors. Together, we can tackle our most challenging problems. This week I was inspired not by the lofty goals, illuminating research or the theory of change but by the practical, tactical, gritty commitment to get it done. Thanks to the City and partners for hosting the first affordable housing week at city hall and to so many partners in other rooms working on policy change at the state level. A few reflections in the blog linked below.
Mayor Andre Dickens calls #affordablehousing our love language, and we couldn't agree more! We're proud partners with organizations like Atlanta Housing, Invest Atlanta and Georgia Department of Community Affairs in advancing solutions. Our commitment: Connect resources, remove barriers and accelerate progress. Together, let's build a better Atlanta! Medicare Health insurance broker for Missouri, Kansas and Ohio. Author of The Book Qadree El-Amin A Man. Behind the scenes manager mogul of the stars dangerous and glamorous life from Newark New Jersey.
Hi Morgan No we are not Proud of Mayor Lucas. Repealing NEW ORDINANCE TO CODE BOOKS ORDINANCE NO. 230401 Amending Chapter 3, Code of Ordinances, by repealing Section 3-431, “Setting Goals for Individual Contracts” and enacting in lieu thereof a new section of like number and subject matter regulating the application of numeric MBE/WBE goals on certain projects leased for development or receiving economic development incentives or tax abatement. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY: 2. Ignoring the letter from The Kcmo Fairness Board Chairman & Fairness Committee regarding Civil Rights violations ? Harrasment of minority contractors ? inadequate reporting from Kcmo CREO department ? No Disparity report for 9 years and more ? 2016 Disparity Report below: Department of I think 1.2 minority [participation] and 2.5 WBE [participation], when there was adequate availability of minority and women contractors to meet the City’s standard kind of goal of 15 [percent] and 7 [percent]. They’re diluting the opportunity for minority and women contractors when it comes through the statutory business development organizations, all of whom have different sets of rules..… There ought to be a uniform code that is incorporated in all the development agreements which people in our community never see.… There’s a disconnect. And I realize they’re trying to change some of that now but the insulting part of it was there was more money spent through statutory agencies last year for contracting activities than there were through City departments.… It’s obviously developer driven. By the time we see it the development agreement has already been executed. Caused lack of capital for Jackson County schools and libraries. Mayor Lucas and Insult to African Americans everywhere?
Grateful to Quinton Lucas for the opportunity to serve my community and for the strong trust we’ve placed in each other since day one. We’ve accomplished a lot the past five years, and I hope we’ve made Kansas City proud. Under the mayor’s leadership, I know our City government will remain bold, caring and creative. How special it’s been to be part of it all. Reid Day, you’re up next! We’re all rooting for you.
