Happy World FM Day. This year marks 10 years for me working as part of the FM industry. Sat in the offices of Eden Brown in early 2014, and being told I would be recruiting maintenance engineers. I didn't think at the time that it would take me halfway round the world and I would be even more surprised if you told me I would be sat the other side as an FM. The theme this year around Inspire is an interesting one. It's not a career that inspires (it's not even a career that people are aware of), but it can be a great career. Macro have offered me so many opportunities in the last 3 years, but it is testament to the industry we are in that it offers people with all kinds of skills and experiences a chance. Many of the same challenges remain though. There is still a long way to go in terms of representation in leadership roles, there is definitely work to do to bring the benefits of remote work to the teams that create the spaces for our partners and colleagues to thrive. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't understand the changes that have been made and celebrate the businesses and individuals who are driving those changes. #WorldFMDay #FacMan #FM
