🌎 Unpacking the Power of Diversity in Global Business Strategies with AUSSENWIRTSCHAFT AUSTRIA | Female Founders | C&A Last week at the Exporttag 2024, we dove deep into the transformative role that diversity and inclusion play in global expansion. As highlighted during our panel, "Even though diversity is a no-brainer when expanding, many start-ups still fail to sufficiently acknowledge this dimension," as noted by Renate Schnutt. Incorporating insights from Erin Meyer’s "The Culture Map", our discussion explored how understanding cultural dimensions—such as communicating across high and low-context cultures—can drastically improve international business interactions. Meyer’s framework illustrates the importance of adapting to different cultural norms to foster effective communication and collaboration. This is why we pledge to champion diversity and inclusion as crucial KPIs for business success, far beyond the HR agenda, bringing these practices to every strategic table in Austria and beyond. Thank you to our great panelists: 🔵 Renate Schnutt from the Außenwirtschaft Austria, who provided profound insights into the nuances of global trade. 🔵 Valerie Hengl, CEO of Female Founders, whose dedication to empowering female entrepreneurs continues to inspire. 🔵 Norbert W. Scheele Scheele, Head of European Expansion at C&A, who shared invaluable strategies on scaling operations across diverse European markets. 🔵 Josefine Schulze, who masterfully hosted the discussion, weaving together domain expertise and professionalism. 🔵 Our keynote speaker, Desiree Jonek-Lustyk, whose expertise in Diversity-Equity-Inclusion research set a thought-provoking tone for our conversation. 👉 Why should you care? Embracing cultural diversity and inclusion isn't just the right thing to do; it's a strategic imperative that drives innovation and growth. As we continue to face global challenges, integrating these values into the core of our business strategies is essential for sustainable success. Did you already consider diversity and inclusion as critical dimensions in your business growth? Join the conversation below and let’s drive these necessary changes in our society together! "The global economy are likely to affect the global labor market, and the risk is that as we see a lot of change, people will look for someone to blame because people don't like change. And so you start to see prejudice rising against different groups in society, something we call ‘scapegoat economics’. This is very, very damaging and may undermine the potential success for the fourth industrial revolution, because in the next 15-20 years, we will not care about technology. What we will care about is how we use the technology. And that means having the right person in the right job at the right time, which prejudice hinders.” We mark the beginning of the new year, with this strong quote from Paul Donovan, Chief Economist at UBS, who spoke at Womenomics last year on his book “Profit and Prejudice”. This month also marks the end of our Womenomics early-bird campaign, so make sure to secure your tickets now: https://lnkd.in/d5bBeHFX. Stay tuned for the launch of our Womenomics 2025 speaker lineup coming soon! Paul Donovan’s speech resonated deeply with the audience, leaving them captivated and inspired to return to their organisations and be the change. At Womenomics this year, we will dive even deeper into the topic with the theme: Inclusive Leadership – Shaping Sustainable Workplaces. For exclusive insights into this topic, join us at the Womenomics Global DE&I Summit 2025 on June 3rd at the iconic Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen. 🎉 Exciting news! We're thrilled to announce that we've been ranked number 3 among companies in the Nordic Business Diversity Index 2025 for the large-cap Helsinki Nasdaq category! This year's Index, powered by Impaktly analyzed an impressive 10,000+ board and executive members from over 840 companies across Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, and Norway. The comprehensive assessment focused on four key aspects of leadership diversity: gender, age, nationality and education. This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering diverse perspectives and inclusive leadership. 🌍🤝 We believe that embracing differences drives innovation and sustainable success. The Nordic Business Diversity Index continues to be the most extensive ranking of its kind in the Nordics, sparking crucial conversations about the importance of diversity in boardrooms and executive teams. We're proud to be at the forefront of this positive change and remain dedicated to cultivating an environment where all voices are heard and valued. 𝟭% 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 – 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in a panel at the 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 in Munich. These two days of intense exchange and inspiration highlighted a key lesson for me: 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗮 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝟭% 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁. Just like in aviation, where a slight course deviation can significantly alter the destination, small positive behavioural changes in our everyday work can create long-term effects. Regardless of our role in an organisation, 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 is something we can all practice. Studies show that every small step matters. I am convinced that positive leadership plays an important role in making women more visible with their expertise, which is crucial for their careers and for more female role models. A big thank you to the organizers, speakers, and participants for making this conference such a success. I’m excited to bring these insights into my daily work and start implementing them. ✍️ What is your 1% that you would like to change in your professional life? I look forward to hearing your thoughts and exchanging ideas. Norbert Heining Dr. Markus Ebner Kim Cameron Ayse Y. 😉 “If you really want something, just go for it.” This is the main #thought that I take away from the presentation that I was able to moderate at the DES | Digital Enterprise Show: "Top Women Leaders in Artificial Intelligence". At Pitaya we always talk about "female leadership" as a company philosophy. Feminine Leadership goes far beyond women as leaders, it is more of an #energy applicable to both men and women. It is a type of sensible and empathetic leadership, it does not encourage competitiveness, but rather cooperation and unity and that was, without a doubt, the energy that was created in the presentation thanks to 👏🏼 Pilar Manchón, Senior Director of AI Research Strategy at Google and Board Director at Eventbrite, UDX 👏🏼 Natalia Rodriguez Nuñez-Milara, CEO & Founder of Saturno Labs, an innovation lab that creates its products with the highest #technology. Their goal is to democratize access to this technology for everyone and to help people in areas such as medicine, accessibility, psychology or social services. And she is also on the 35 leading women in technology list from Forbes in #Spain 👏🏼 and last but not least, Mihaela Tudor, Founder and CEO at TUDOR Communications, a PR agency dedicated to media relations, which develops integrated communication strategies for companies and personal branding, 2Value APP as well as Global Vice President of Association Women's Union. And, of course, thanks also to Sandra Infante Grillon and Alezeya Sánchez Lizcano and the NEBEXT Next Business Exhibitions team, who had made this event possible due to her impressive work and perseverance. 😎 "You shouldn't have #wishes; you should have #goals." #DES #Málaga #Presentation #Speakers #Moderator #IA #Innovation #Tech #Women #Leaders #Top #Barcelona #Spain

🇩🇪 𝐅𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞 𝐮𝐩? 🇩🇪 Great initiative from our Search Consultant, James Bray, as his research reveals some concerning statistics surrounding Pharma leadership in Germany. James discovered that Germany currently claims the lowest percentage of female Pharma leaders in Western Europe 📊 👇 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐰 👇 #LeadershipDiversity | #Pharma | #Voices
A little longer ago than I realised, I did some analysis on female leadership stats in Pharma research & manufacturing in the UK. I've replicated the same work in Germany. (Original post linked in comments). Now there's some challenges with German businesses, as the data I'm pulling from is primarily accessible from digital sources. Germany - famously an undigital place. For example, I know there's thousands of German Medtech businesses, but according to LinkedIn as just one source, there's less than a hundred, and the majority of those don't have websites. So, it's been tricky to track down all the leadership (thank you Xing and the various regional business councils!). My pool for this data is 5,270 professionals across Germany. And again sticking to Pharma research & manufacture, including CDMO and CRO. The data is not good reading. Not only is Germany behind the US & UK in terms of female leader %, it's got the lowest % of female leaders in Western Europe (according to my preliminary work here). Even lower than stereotypically male led countries like Switzerland (20%), & Austria (19%). Germany sits at a low figure of 18% female leaders in Pharma. The leading location for female leaders is Berlin (a total outlier at 23%) and the lowest is Lower Saxony at 16%. What we can take from the data is, female leaders in Germany are concentrated in Berlin (all the states excluding Berlin = an average of 17%). It's not unexpected, I'd hypothesise most cities have a concentration of larger companies, which likely have less barriers in place to female leaders. For example Munich's at 21%. This is why DACH based voices that promote female leaders, like Eylem Demir Sentürk's Women on Stage® or the DCAT articles about female leaders in DACH, are so important! I'll admit, a blindspot I have, is German organisations with a similar purpose. I know we have Lift Up: Women in Life Sciences our global group for promoting female leadership, but a local German organisation is just something I am not aware of. I would love to promote it to my network if there is one. #womeninlifescience #womeninstem #femaleleadership
