Introducing GRILLE's Medical Cabin 🚑✈️ Together with Prof. Dr. med. Peter Biberthaler, AVILUS prototyped a medical cabin that ensures medical care in all transport phases. ⛑️ Pre-flight, it offers all the medical equipment needed by the Bravo first responder according to tactical combat casualty care (#TCCC). Herein, special emphasis is placed on bleeding and respiratory control. 🩺 During the flight, it supports the evacuation by monitoring the patient's vital parameters and offering video call-based psychological care throughout the journey. ✅ Post-flight, the cabin is easily swappable to ensure minimal downtime, maximum hygiene, and fast decontamination. Ensure safe and efficient evacuation by integrating the GRILLE into your operations. Book your OpEx at 👉 opex@avilus.com. #AVILUS #GRILLE #MedicalCabin #VitalParameters #MedicalEvacuation #RescueMission #OpEx #LoadAndFly

How will ITC-AeroLeasing’s new leases enhance Global Medical Response’s EMS capabilities? ITC-AeroLeasing, Inc. has concluded 11 aircraft leases with Global Medical Response (GMR) for their operating companies, including Air Evac Lifeteam EMS, Guardian Flight, LLC, Med-Trans Corporation, and REACH Air Medical Services. The fleet includes Bell Flight 407, Airbus H125, and Pilatus Aircraft Ltd PC-12 aircraft, each chosen to meet the diverse needs of EMS operations across the U.S. These versatile aircraft models are well-suited for rapid patient transport and handling complex emergency medical services. Mirika Nakayama, CEO of ITC-AeroLeasing, expressed pride in supporting GMR’s life-saving operations and emphasized ITC’s long-standing commitment to EMS operators since 1989. It does not happen often - but when it does, you'd better be prepared.... this is a guiding principle in medicine and aviation alike. Cardiac Arrest and CPR are, thankfully, rare events in international air ambulance operations. However, if it happens, ROSC is difficult to achieve and death in-flight is a possible, even likely, outcome. Arriving in a foreign country with a deceased patient on-board is an unsettling scenario for most aeromedical professionals. We just published an open access paper in Air Medical Journal that might help to be a bit more prepared - hoping that you never need the information provided in this publication. https://lnkd.in/ejA_H843

Rob Duckworth -- thank you for posting this...you know I have NOTHING but the utmost admiration for you and Jonathan Adkins. However, in watching his video introducing the National Alliance to Stop Impaired Driving (NASID) conference, I couldn't help but notice the same missing element that underpinned my presentation at the ATSIP | Association of Transportation Safety Information Professionals (ATSIP) "Traffic Records Forum"; and my colleague Art Groux's talk at the DRIVE SMART Virginia "Distracted Driving Summit." (THANK YOU, Tara Casanova Powell and Kristin Pettway...I hope together we can advance the state of the science.) Jonathan said "we've got to look at ignition interlocks, we've got to look at training programs." I hope his next video will cite the MEDICAL causes of crashes, too. Did you know that, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration NHTSA, SEIZURES account for 35% of the medical contributors to crashes? 20% of health-related crashes are related to DIABETES, and 11% to HEART ATTACK. There is NO EXCUSE for driving drunk or intentionally high. Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) -- However, the National Roadway Safety Strategy #NRSS features an ambulance as a key components, yet the health part of the discussion is still not represented as viscerally as the public safety side. I'll never say we shouldn't enforce safe driving laws. But as someone whose father is a diabetic and who has friends with conditions like multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, and A-fib, sometimes the impairment just cannot be helped. Such scenarios cry out for #empathy, not just #enforcement. (Big H/T to Jaimi Kenyon, because her own empathy on this topic inspired me.)
What is Jonathan Adkins, National Alliance to Stop Impaired Driving (NASID) Board Chair and Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) CEO, most excited about for at #NASIDconf24? Join us in Arlington, VA this November to learn more about #EndingImpairedDriving: https://lnkd.in/emE2nxjC

How does our helicopter land at major trauma centres? 🚁 At 17 major trauma centres in the UK, you can typically spot a large yellow circle surrounding a red H in a cross -this is a helipad. 🏥 Hospital helipads can be located on the ground, on a hospital building rooftop or on a low structure, enabling access to an emergency department. The area has to be clear of obstacles, surveyed on a regular basis and monitored for constant use🌲🏨 When our crew approach a helipad, they take into account the wind direction using indications from the ground, such as a wind sock positioned adjacent to the landing site. They check the area is clear, secure and proceed to touchdown. 💨 Our crew may communicate with the hospital, whilst inflight, via our HEMS desk providing an ETA and an update on the patient's condition in preparation for arrival. 📻 Of course, the biggest difference we can make for patients is getting the expertise of our crew to the scene of the emergency. But with our aircraft and priority access to hospital helipads, we can transfer patients quickly and safely to further aid their recovery. ❤️ #avgeek #helicopter #pilotsoflinkedin #aviationphotography #aviatorsworldwide #av1atiOn 📸Nigel Lyons

How We Save Lives: Our helicopters bring critical care capability to the scene to save the lives of critically ill or injured patients. Our air and land crews perform emergency inter-facility transfers to save lives and preserve limbs. Ornge also coordinates all aviation requirements in support of Trillium Gift of Life Network (TGLN) mission. This involves coordinating air transport for TGLN surgical transplant teams and for recovered organs. #airambulance #pilot #paramedic
