What innovative solutions do newcomers find when asked how EU societies can help them fight the stigma and discrimination that they face ❓ 🇸🇮 In Maribor, Slovenia, newcomers and local actors sat down to discuss just this. After listening to the newcomers experiences, they found root causes to be: - Lack of awareness about the earnestness of newcomer inclusion - Lack of accessibility at public events - Infrastructures of public spaces do not allow barrier-free movement To use the power of storytelling, we can create a holistic story with many different characters representing all newcomers. We can address stereotypes, explain why they happen, and the challenges they create. In this way, newcomers process their stories, and host societies better understand them, enabling effective cooperation to tackle key issues.🤝 Shawgi Ahmed Selma Rassoul #PLACENetwork #ActiveMigrantParticipation #NewcomerVoices #PowerOfStorytelling

Happy International Youth Day! Here's what the Youth Community Office within Kunsill Nazzjonali taż-Żgħażagħ has in store for the next few months: 1. Inclusivity on all fronts, not just in terms of policy applications to how we as youth can be included but also noting diversity, equity and a sense of belonging in our advocacy and the campaigns we put up - this builds upon what is currently being dealt with in the 10th cycle of the EU Youth Dialogue 2. Inter-organisation collaboration with youth professionals and youth/student organisations in Malta and Gozo, ensuring our advocacy and campaigns is far-reaching rather than divided and diluted 3. Representing our community efforts nationally and internationally, applying global advocacy efforts from fields (e.g. Health) to all directorates so we can learn, but also peer educate fellow organisations and youth at the national, European and international levels #internationalyouthday

A landmark moment unfolded last month as Alejandro Mayoral Baños illuminated Montreal at EquiTalks: Turning Division into Dialogue. This event convened 150 fervent advocates for human rights—defenders, activists, and aficionados alike—under a shared canopy of purpose. At its core, the dialogue sought to forge connections, aiming to foster a holistic appreciation of human rights that balances individual liberties with collective welfare. The Indigenous Friends Association (IFA) stands as a bastion for this balance, advocating for the empowerment of individuals while simultaneously upholding the rights of the community as pillars for meaningful progress. A pivotal insight from EquiTalks highlighted the role of community-led initiatives in human rights education. These endeavors are at the forefront of societal transformation, positioning education not just as a tool, but as a driving force for action, respect, and mutual understanding among varied communities. Join us on this path toward inclusivity, where conversation opens the doors to unity. 🌍💬 #EquiTalks #HumanRights #CommunityEmpowerment #DialogueForChange #IFA #EducationAsAction
