While I am a die hard LA Sparks fan 😀, I have upmost appreciation for A’ja Wilson as an amazing person and absolute beast of a basketball player! Two takeaways from this clip is authentic leadership and surround yourself with people who support you being your best. She exemplifies authentic leadership. You are always going to receive A’ja in all of her glory. The wide range of emotions that she exudes on and off the court with her team are refreshingly authentic. She has high expectations for herself and her team as her team tries for their third WNBA title. As leader you know that you can’t do it all alone and there is a moment in which she appreciation for her teammates holding her accountable. The vulnerability as a leader to acknowledge your humanity and state I have bad days too is remarkable insight into psychological safety. As a leader, I have created an environment where I can let you know I am not at my best and I am open to receive feedback when I am not giving my best is a blessing. Special Post today: Celebrating St. David's Day to all my fellow Welsh people all over the world. St. David's last message before he died is one that totally floored me when I found out about it. OK, so it may not be scientifically proven to be true, but it will do for me. It's a message that speaks to 4 elements of Mental Fitness for a modern age and also the framework I am so proud to have created 11 years ago - which also has a Welsh connection: The Dilyn WayTM Framework. Dilyn is Welsh for To Follow. A call to leaders to become role models of their best selves to encourage others to follow their unique path to develop their best selves also - all within the context of the modern world. Back to St. David's spooky last words and my work: "Be Joyful, Keep the Faith, Do the Small things you heard and saw me do."
