5 years later, Sonaca closes the curtain on HLFC Win. If you had to remember few things from this project? ✔ One JEC Composites Innovation award in 2023 ✔ Numerous technologies to be used for next developments : Krueger flap, induction de-icing system,... ✔ And our partners congratulations for the great work This project was achieved with the partnership of German Aerospace Center (DLR) Aernnova Aerospace ONERA - The French Aerospace Lab and Airbus as coordinator. Cleansky2 initiative aims to develop new technologies for a clean, innovative and competitive aviation system. As a reminder, HLFC (Hybrid Laminar Flow Control) technology is designed to maintain the smoothest possible flow along the wing. It offers the potential for significant reductions in specific fuel consumption. The teams developed a ground demonstrator to check the feasibility and integration of all associated HLFC systems. #aerospace #innovation #engineering #industry

🎯 Resilience, competitiveness and sustainability - our goals for the aerospace industry within the BMWK-funded Aerospace-X project. This week, together with more than 30 partners from the aviation industry and research, we took part in the kick-off of the Aerospace-X project led by Airbus, one of the largest projects within the Manufacturing-X research program. Under the motto "Manufacturing-X ... Make Data Work", we will be developing an open, collaborative data ecosystem that will serve as the basis for the scalable use of manufacturing data in the aviation industry. Our main task is the participation within the "End-to-End Quality Management" work package, which is under the direction of our spin-off gemineers GmbH. In this work package, the digital twin will form the basis for data-based quality management, which plays a particularly important role in the manufacture and operation of safety-critical engine and structural components. 💪 With our project results, we want to make a contribution to more sustainable and resilient supply chains for the aerospace industry - a goal that is even more of a concern to us in times of global crises such as geopolitical instability, pandemics and cyber security risks. In other work packages of the Aerospace-X project, we aim to provide solutions for capacity management, reducing the carbon footprint of products and for the circular economy. In addition to a total of four collaborating Fraunhofer Institutes, numerous German and European engine OEMs and Tier-n suppliers are also involved, with whom we have been working together on a trustful basis for many years. Other partners include providers of digital solutions and research institutions from the aerospace industry. For the kick-off, we were welcomed by the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz and VDI Technologiezentrum GmbH at the ZAL Center of Applied Aeronautical Research in Hamburg. ✈️ We are very much looking forward to working together on this exciting and future-relevant research field! Do you want to know more? 👉 Then find out more about our joint project at Stand D26 in Hall 8 at the HANNOVER MESSE from April 22 to 26, 2024. 👉 You can also take a look at the latest MX-Talk for details on the Aerospace-X project at https://lnkd.in/euXhtT7q Fraunhofer IPK Fraunhofer IFAM Fraunhofer ISST #Fraunhofer #Aviation #Aerospace #Quality #DigitalTwin
