Siemens Energy has won a contract to supply 12 electrolysers with a total capacity of 200 megawatts to France's Air Liquide , marking the biggest single order of the German group's hydrogen division to date. No financial details were disclosed. Electrolysers use electricity to produce hydrogen. "Other large-scale projects must follow quickly," Siemens Energy board member Anne-Laure de Chammard said. "For the development of a European hydrogen economy to succeed, we need reliable support from policymakers and simplified procedures for funding and approving such projects." The electrolysers will be operated in Air Liquide's plant in the Port-Jerome industrial zone in Normandy, where 28,000 tonnes of renewable hydrogen will be produced for industry and the mobility sector annually from 2026. #siemensenergy #H2B

With #WTUI conference coming to a close, I ‘d like to reflect on some of the learnings and discussions we have had with #aeroderivative customers and stakeholders. While more #renewables come into play, there is a growing need to stabilize grids with reliable energy solutions. Aeroderivative #technology can provide fast and stable power and therefore play an important role in the #EnergyTransition. @GE Vernova’s Aeroderivative gas turbines are #FuelFlexible - a crucial feature to help lower carbon emissions. We are working to increase hydrogen burning capability across the entire portfolio, with a pathway to achieve 100% capability over the next decade. As the worldwide demand for electricity keeps rising, the accelerated and strategic joint deployment of both renewables and gas power can play a pivotal role in addressing the energy trilemma – i.e., developing more affordable, reliable and more sustainable energy solutions – and reducing carbon emissions. The #EnergyofTomorrow will need to be #FastFlexibleSustainable... and Aero can provide it.

We are very proud to share that the efforts to #decarbonize the gas sector are bearing fruit: in Vienna, always the front-runner city when it comes to quality of life and sustainability, @Siemens Energy, @WienEnergie, @RheinEnergie and @VERBUND are testing #greenhydrogen co-firing in a gas turbine under real conditions for the first time. The co-firing is being performed in the power plant Donaustadt, which incidentally lies but a few hundred meters from the Donau-Auen National Park entrance. The amount of green hydrogen in the gas turbine operation has already been increased to 15 percent on individual test days. In #Europe, more than 115 gas turbines of this type are in operation with an installed capacity of more than 31 gigawatts. Operational tests such as these are crucial for #decarbonization of the energy sector in the coming years.
