🌟 Redefining Talent Potential: Rio Tinto's Neurodiversity Programme I'm excited to share a video showcasing Rio Tinto's groundbreaking neurodiversity programme. Initiatives like these are, little-by-little, redefining how we view talent and potential in mining - matching unique abilities with ideal roles within the industry. 🤔 Rethinking Recruitment The programme raises an important question: Are our current recruitment processes equipped to embrace this new way of thinking? It's a call to action for all of us to evolve our hiring strategies to recognise diverse forms of brilliance and what is needed for the roles that we are recruiting for. 🙌 A Personal Note Special thanks to everyone involved, who played a pivotal role. Your collective efforts are shaping a more inclusive and effective workplace across the mining industry. I truly believe that this will seed amazing things - and that it is only the beginning. 👀 Discover the Impact Watch the video to see the transformative power of this approach. Let's continue championing such initiatives! P.S. Chris Ware - very proud of you! #talentpotential #inclusiverecruitment #neurodiversity #diversifiedthought #celebratingdiversity #thinkingdifferently #talentattraction #talentretention #futureofwork #talentdevelopment #innovationinhr #futureofmining
It is that time of the year when you reflect on what has been achieved and something I am the most proud of has been the work of the team to launch the neuroinclusion internship pilot program. The idea was generated in a team day over two years ago as a way to leverage diverse thinking to solve some unique problems in our business. A few people took that passion and created something that has had a lasting impact within our organisation. I think this video says it all. It was great to hear from Sebastian, Dhiren and Harrison on their journey and understand firsthand the benefits of the program - supporting them to flourish in their roles and to make the most of a wide range of skills and thinking. In particular, I am very proud of Chris Ware, Sang Nguyen, Aaron Le Page, Gemma Marriott, Kristina West and the many others involved in taking this great idea and making it a reality. Their passion for creating an environment where diverse thinking in all its forms is encouraged and celebrated has gone a long way to creating a culture we can all thrive in. https://lnkd.in/d_YfypZX

With technology advancements moving faster than we can keep up, career days have become so crucial in my view for providing students with the range of opportunities at their disposal. As a teacher, I saw firsthand how these events opened up students' eyes to the wide range of career possibilities available to them. I teamed up with SITAL College for a series of Career Days that gave students a chance to explore different occupations and connect their classroom learning to the real world of work. As a professional I was able to share insights about their possible careers and the education/training needed to succeed. For many students at these sessions it was clear that it was their first exposure to careers and education requirements they may not have considered before. Every secondary school in the Caribbean should host a Career Day. It's a powerful way to nurture career exploration, give students a first-hand look at different occupations, and skills they need to develop to get them where they wish to go. The earlier students start thinking about their future careers, the better prepared they'll be to make informed decisions.

BSc, MEd, PhD, MRSC. Aspiring to improve teaching, learning and assessment. Seeking to grow my sphere of influence through research, policy analysis and transformational professional development coaching.
The approach of National Careers Week provides a timely opportunity to advocate a PhD by publication as a professional development and lifelong learning model (part 2) I have really grown through the experience. For example, the reflexive process demanded that I interrogate my worldview and I was able to identify how this has developed through greater knowledge and understanding. I have tried to capture this evolution in the image below.
